Yesterday was my daughter birthday, since we were in the area shopping. She decided she wanted sushi. We stop in, wasn't sure of this place because there were no one in, so I gave it a try. Once we walk in, we weren't greeted ( 1st red flag ). We stated we wanted to eat-in. The waiter immediately profile us, clearly he didn't want to serve us but had no choice since it's his job. The waiter didn't introduce himself or greet us with politeness ( 2nd red flag). He didn't ask us if we wanted something to drink ( 3rd red flag ). He took our appetizer order first, and wouldn't look directly at us. You can see the frustration in his face. In the middle of taking our appetizer order, he stops, walks away to attend a white family of three that just enter to give them menus. Now we are pissed, but we stayed to give this place a chance being is my daughter's birthday. He drops off the appetizers, still didn't ask if we wanted something to drink. We had to tell him our drinks, and as we were giving our order he assume we weren't ready and turn around went to the other family to take thier order. No communication or not even a "excuse me for a min."He wasn't busy at all. My husband waited as the other family order, he stood up and ask if it was a problem. He said no, and by this time we asked for the check. I spoke to him in spanish as he was also from spanish orgin. I told him he needs to learn common courtesy how to serve. I explain to him that I am a bartender I would never treat anyone like that. I stated we planned to order a lot and that he forfeit a hefty tip if he hadn't done what he did. My daughter didn't deserve that. He thought by catering to the other white family they going to tip and not us. He was greatly mistaken. I'm so happy all they got was $14.73. We will never come here again. I advise anyone not to waste your time here if you are of color. It's ashame our own people...
Read moreI am a food critic, and I paid attention to this unique sushi restaurant near Port Jervis a few days ago. I have eaten at almost all sushi restaurants in New York State, so I have a deep understanding of and requirements for sushi. This store's prices are higher than the quality of their ingredients. (1) The salmon meat is not fresh, most of it is dull in color and the meat is very broken. (2) The fishy smell of tuna meat is poorly handled, and you can still feel a bloody taste even when you chew it in your mouth. (3) The portion of Sushi and Sashimi Combo for two people is very small. It is also smaller than the portion of ordinary sushi restaurants in Manhattan. This is something I am very dissatisfied with. Out of respect for my first visit to this place, I tipped 15%. (4) The sashimi is cut too thickly and the quantity is too small. I think it needs to be improved. The best taste lies in the moderate thickness and the moderate number of slices, which will satisfy the guests. I even eat the omakasa $1800 12-course Michelin sushi that requires reservation. I often eat it, so I obviously can’t compare it with them. Let’s talk about the satisfactory places: parking is convenient, the restaurant environment I rate 90 points (relatively clean), the music in the restaurant is very enjoyable, the service attitude is very good, if you come, don’t miss their white tuna, I am very surprised because Their white tuna meat is very delicious and has Michelin quality. The brown rice tea is well brewed and drinking it regularly is good for your health. Tabigo and Ikura are very fresh and...
