I can no longer fully support this cafe because I learned that they are not what they purport to be. On their website they claim: "We do not use additives or flavor enhancers" however, I recently learned they are not putting erythritol in their products, which contribute to heart disease, blood clots, and digestive issues. Also, not all products are raw, which are deceiving. Oats are used in some of the products, which is fine, but it is not "raw." They also have some desserts advertised on their website which say they have clean ingredients, but unavailable when you go there. This is deceiving. Do not advertise what you don't carry. I spoke to the cook about this and she said it's on the owner's husband. Also note, they close without alerting the public. That is what social media is for. Let customers know when you are closing early or not going to be opened at all. This is very disrespectful. Other vegan friendly restaurants in the area like Earth, Surf, and Turf and Lady and the Shallot let people know when they are going to close early or take the day off via social media. I've reached out to the owner several times regarding the ingredients used via email and on Facebook, and to ask why they close without alerting people. I have been ignored. What does that tell you? That the owner doesn't care about their customers. When I used to come here, the cook would rattle off ingredients but eliminate some of them. Not cool. Also note, so-called "superfood" maca, which is used in nearly all their products also has issues and side effects. Some of the minor side effects in maca are those that are similar to caffeine such as insomnia, moodiness, headaches, and jitters -- by no means a "game changer" but quite the opposite. Their pretty molds are merely a wolf in sheep's clothing, no healthier than a local bakery...
Read moreI finally stopped in today after hearing so much about this place. I have to say, A+. Vegan bakeries I've been to in the past relied heavily on coconut oil leaving every pastry, no matter which, tasting like that or peanut butter. Not here! The delicacies are carefully made with the healthiest raw ingredients and the flavors are exquisite. And the texture! Each bite melted in my mouth like the finest truffle. The portions are not large, more like the sizes we expected in the sixties before we became such a gluttonous society. (Yes I"m including myself as one of its overindulgent citizens! ;0) I want to applaud the owner for not only encouraging people to move away from the dairy industry and it's factory farms' extreme cruelty to animals, but for offering a solution. And not just by providing tasty desserts to satisfy our collective sweet tooth, but by in fact creating treats that are quite...
Read moreI order from here 4 times out of the week. I was looking for something to satisfy my sweet tooth and I stumbled upon this new spot in town. Dairy isn’t necessarily my best friend so when I read they were vegan I was excited to try them out. I’ve had vegan desserts before and they had a grainy after taste. I can’t explain how smooth these desserts are. I actually looked at the baker and said “are you sure these are vegan?” I was obsessed. They have unique flavor combinations that keep you wanting more. My favorite are tirawmisu, peanut magic, and açaí sky. I also recently tried their special for the day and it was incredible. For every sale of their Ukrainian cake they give back to Ukraine too so what’s not to like about this business? Check them out you won’t be disappointed! 10/10 taste 10/10...
