We were there for lunch on 11/8/23; food was amazing but the server was way beyond rude. Poor rating is totally due to the way server made us feel while we were there. While ordering, I asked server if 'pineapple fried rice' would be sweet; her response was "I don't know because I don't like rice with pineapple but a lot of Indian people eat this". I get it if she doesn't know or new to the job and she could have asked her team but her response was way out of line judging people with their race. Then she came to pick up menus from the table, I asked her to leave the beverage since I didn't notice earlier that there is separate menu for beverage. She asked me "why do you need menu for?". What can someone do with the menu other than order. This wasn't enough of her rudeness. Worst part was - she asked 2 families sitting around us if they had problem with our 3 months baby. Our baby wasn't even crying and no one even complained then I don't see a point why she asked other families. One of the families even told her 'why would this be a problem, we love babies'. We can't tolerate this type of service and left the restaurant as soon as we finished the meal. If restaurant doesn't want people with babies then they should say that out loud and we would be happy to give business to other family friendly restaurants. Not going to go...
Read moreI don't know what authentic Thai food tastes like but I know I love the food here a lot. It's our go-to Thai spot. They never disappoint. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is very clean. I love that you can adjust the spiciness level. For me, that means I turn it all the way up because food can never be too spicy as long as the flavors are balanced...and they are. My fave dishes are the pad Thai, basil fried rice, and soft shell crab basil. I also like the cold Thai hibiscus tea; it's not too sweet but sweet enough. The appetizers are what you would expect. Nothing really stands out, but we order them anyway. The main dishes are the stars here. There is free parking in the back and we've never had issues finding a spot. We've never seen the restaurant packed (we've only visited early evening during the weekday) but there is always a steady stream of orders coming in from online & Uber eats. There's always a dozen or so orders lined up for pickup. It's a BYOB restaurant. I'm not sure if there is a corkage fee because we didn't BYOB. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion. There's good energy in the restaurant and we always feel good after our dining experience. Splash of Thai is on heavy rotation...
Read moreWe were excited to try the" COMPLETE " dinner combo but discovered that the portions were quite small for $16 and tea was an extra $5..really???!! The $16 gets you a four compartment " school cafeteria trough" including a scoop of your entree choice, a fraction of a real appetizer, a scoop of rice, and a few pieces of lettuce. My dad asked for extra tomato on the sad 5 leaf lettuce salad and actually received no tomato! A Healthy Choice frozen meal has more food. The waitress looked like a baby deer in the headlights when he asked for tomato and brought back to him a measly slivery sized slice..needed a microscope to see it! Out of an empty quiet restaurant they crammed an annoyingly loud bunch of teenagers right next to us. The waitress service was poor. She may not know the English language but if you plan to make $$$ in Westfield, NJ..learn some and smile more. She never checked to see if we needed anything or how the food was tasting. The flavors of the food were average but not worth the money. Finally the bathroom was dusty and dirty. There are plenty of better Thai places around in Union County than to waste time here. We left...
