I don’t know when exactly the Choolaah in Westlake opened but my husband and I discovered it probably in Feb or Mar 2024 when I was searching for something different, and it has been one of our regular quick and healthy dinner options ever since. The food is fantastic, so very fresh and super flavorful! Typically, my husband picks up food from the drive through window (super convenient) and he’s always commented on how super friendly and nice the staff are. I recently had an opportunity to go inside to eat (I took a friend who had never been there before). I was explaining to my friend the various bowl, base and protein options, and the different masalas and daals, different sauces, etc. when the guy behind the counter brought us a tray which had a sampling of the tikki masala, chickpea masala, and both the black and yellow lentils (daal). The samples were large enough for both my friend and I to sample from (I hadn’t tried either of the daal yet). That was so thoughtful and was helpful for her to decide what she wanted. We placed our order and shortly after we sat down with our food, the same guy brought us over a tray which had a sampling for each us of three different drinks (the mango lassi of course, the mango lemonade, and the mint ginger lemonade). Again, so very thoughtful. As we were eating, I noticed I could see the tandoori ovens through the glass partition and there was a guy making naan. When the guy who gave us the samples noticed us watching he told the manager and the manager called us over to actually see in the ovens and they explained the two different oven types – one type for the naan and one type for the chicken. He explained the process for making the naan and how they keep it only for about 30 minutes after it’s made and then they discard it so as to ensure its freshness. No wonder their food is always so fresh and tasty. It was a really cool experience. Then as we were leaving, the manager gave both my friend and me three different coupons to come back (store only) – one for a free kulfi (ice cream), one for a free drink, and one for free samosas. I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered such nice staff in a casual-dining restaurant. I’m just sorry I don’t remember the names of the guys there that night (Thursday, June 6th). And the food is top notch. If you haven’t tried Choolaah in Westlake yet, you really should try it. We eat at Choolaah for sure once a week (sometimes twice). Definitely 5 stars all...
Read moreChoolaah has been one of my favorite restaurant when it comes to Indian food. I have been visiting Beachwood location frequently but today was first time at Crocker Park location. And Choolaah has never failed to impress my taste buds. But In today’s review I am going to take back seat and let my 2 kids (8 yrs old Daughter and 11 years old Son) take the front seat as it was their first time ever at any Choolaah location and below are their unedited exact words. I would surely give a little brief about them and myself first. As you can see from my other reviews and places we have been visiting. We are avid travelers family of 4 and our kids have eaten Indian food and other cuisines around the world in some of the finest restaurants including in London, Paris, Switzerland, New York, Chicago and so many of the Indian mega city’s best restaurants and in some Michelin star restaurants too. My Choolaah Review (my 8 yrs old daughter’s words) Today we [ME,my brother, my dad, and my mom] went to Choolaah. The food there was amazing! The Panneer Tika Masala was amazing! Also it was worth the wait. But my favorite part was the Mango Lassi. But the samosas were out of this world! And the walls were Awesome! I rate this 6 out of 5 Stars you should definitely go to Choolaah!!!!
My 11 yrs old son’s words. Choolaah, a place where India meets art, imagination takes place, and we can’t forget the food. The food is like a party in your mouth. In my personal opinion I strongly suggest Pav Bhaji, they will give peppers and onions on the side with a lemon and then with the lemon you squeeze on the gravy or bread and it is to die for. The employees work hard to give their customers what they want and on time. The art and their spices explains it all, what the Indian cultures are like, what spices they use, and what their backstory is. I give this restaurant a 5 star rating, overall it is an amazing restaurant and it’s also nothing too spicy and i’m sure that you’ll have a good time there down at Choolaah.
Now it’s me back again. Special thanks and sought out to one of all many best employee at Choolaah Crocker park named Ahmed. Him and his colleagues did make sure that we had best time while we were enjoying best food. It’s a must try Indian fusion food around Cleveland. Kids and both of us were very impressed with decor and ambiance...
Read moreVisited for the first time a couple days ago. One of the owners immediately welcomed us as we walked in and explained to us very clearly how the menu works. He even gave us a sample of each sauce to try before ordering and offered to give us samples of anything else we asked for. The staff was very friendly, the environment was very clean and welcoming. And of course, the food was delicious! I’m usually really picky about food, but this place was great! The best part for my family and I was that everything was halal! We rarely find new local restaurants where everything is halal; and even when we do, they never usually show it out in the open. At Choolaah’s, their menu said “halal friendly” loud and proud! That immediately made my family and I comfortable to eat here. We will definitely be coming back many times in the future! Thanks again to the owner who gave us a warm welcome and helped us understand...
