Marv's Dairy Dan is an awesome business, and everyone is working super hard to provide fast and efficient service. Everyone I have interacted with has always been friendly, courteous, and appreciative of our business.
Update - June 30, 2023 What happened to Dairy Dan?
My wife and I are two of your biggest fans; tonight, that changed.
I ordered a Heath Flurry with whipped cream, and my wife ordered a Banana Split Flurry, with chocolate ice cream, light peanuts, and whipped cream.
I always ask to add a $5 tip to the bill. I understand they're working hard and they deserve a good tip.
We decided to eat outside on one of their park benches. I got a third of the way through my flurry and had not yet found a single piece of Heath candy bar. Nothing but soft serve ice cream.
I went back and talked with the employee who made mine and asked her if there was any Heath in my flurry. She said they put the ice cream on the sides so it would mix up better. I replied I'm 1/3 of the way through my flurry and hadn't found a single piece of Heath yet. She said she put it on there. She didn't offer to remedy the situation so I just walked away.
After eating more plain vanilla, I was able to mix the ice cream with the plastic spoon and I finally dug up some of the Heath bar. It was all at the bottom and not mixed at all.
I don't want to seem too picky, but what I got was a cup full of soft serve ice cream with Heath candy bar crumbles at the bottom. I had to mix it up and make what was left of my ice cream into a flurry.
My wife ended up throwing out her banana split flurry because it was just a soft serve chocolate ice cream. It was full of just chopped peanuts and she couldn't find any banana split in her flurry. We'll never know if it was at the bottom. Her plastic spoon wasn't strong enough to be mixing up the flurry, because she only ate half of it.
This seems like it might be an issue with training. It was obvious that none of the fillings had been mixed into our ice creams, especially Heath candy bar mixed up with vanilla ice cream. She should have recognized that instead of just handing us incompletely mixed ice creams. In the past, an error would've been fixed when we brought it to them.
I had hoped my $5 tip given before the ice creams were made would have gotten me a better product.

The drive-thru is super efficient because they have employees that will take your order while you're waiting to pull around so that by the time you get to the pickup window, you've paid for your ice cream and you just simply have to wait for it to come out the window. Sometimes you pay at the window other times you pay while in line.
They never ask for tips so please tell them to add $5...

the owner of this establishment does not give refunds but takes the products back that they make for customers. The "manager" or key holder as she called herself let her crew talk to customers in the situation that was going on instead of her coming to the window. julie the owner was called a few times and would not answer her phone for a customer but would answer for staff. owner blocked number instead of handling a situation at her establishment. we wanted a medium ice cream and the staff states that they no longer carry medium but when we got the ice cream it was in a medium cup but charged for a large. so their large cups are the size for medium but charged for a large ice cream. staff decided it was okay to sit there and text and laugh at us as we asked for a refund due to not getting our product. "Manager and owner" said no refunds it's their policy. all staff thought it was okay to treat customers with disrespect and rudeness. and when I tried to get an explanation from the "manager" on duty one of her staff was standing next to her making snark comments and I asked if she was a manager, I was told she was not one and I asked the manager to ask her to leave because I was talking to hee about the situation. that's when the "manager" said shes not a manager shes a key holder. so this establishment has no manager on duty while owner is on vacation. staff was very rude as I was jutat trying to get an answer after my group was told no refunds. never in my life have i ever had such disrespect from a place of business and have an owner not even handle the situation. instead just let it get out of hand for a couple dollars from two orders. that's a little crazy in my opinion. Read moreIt seems like the staff is a bit rude and rushes me every time I visit this location. Looking at the demographic it’s probably due to the fact that they aren’t use to other races (never seen a race outside of white working at dairy Dan in all the years I’ve gone here). Maybe offer some training on customer service or something. If I’m spending almost $30 every time my kids want to go here I expect to be treated with respect and not for a rude worker to walk outside and yell for me to “move up” when the lady is clearly taking my order. I just know it’s unnecessary to be impolite while someone is trying to order their stuff. That has literally been my experience the last 3 times on top of them getting the order wrong or excluding something from the order like Oreos in one of the orders. Haven’t complained because I believe in giving people multiple chances but please at least attempt to do better and treat people with respect that they deserve especially when they aren’t presenting problems nor an attitude.
Edit: unprofessional owner with a terrible response. If my review was irrelevant then a response wouldn’t have been warranted. Recommending training is NOT racist. The area is diverse NOT your staff (now reiterate what you just said again correctly). I have several employees from all around the world reporting to me as I work for corporate Canada. Racist is not even a term that is associated with me nor anything that I’m about. Also, as a former business consultant for The Ernst & Young please don’t try to tell me anything about customer service as I’ve been a consultant for literal billion dollar industries.
