On Fri 8/12/16: We purchased 2 dbl quarter pounders and a shake & large coke. I ate 1 sandwich & the shake and my friend had the other sandwich & coke. That night she became sick and stayed in/out of the bathroom all night. The very next morning, I experienced the very same thing. After several hours of this, I called the restaurant & asked to speak to a manager. At first, I got disconnected; I called back and to my astonishment - I got a manager named Laura (sp?) who all but claimed it was my fault I got sick. She stated that she doesn't believe that their food hadn't made me sick. She claimed that it must be something else even though I hadn't eaten anything that day before that meal or afterwards. Since this was my 1st time experiencing something like this with a restaurant, I then went on to ask her what was their procedure in this type of a case. I was really concerned because it was not only me that got sick but also my friend as well. (i.e. Do you offer to look into it? Do you take down my name & # and follow up with me? Do you offer a refund or meal replacement? etc.)
Do you do any of these managerial things? Do you, at the very least, empathize with the customer?
No, she did none of these things... She proceeds to say "why would she refund or replace something that in my words is no longer in my system"....hun?!!!!
For the record, I never cursed, yelled or lost my cool or character throughout this conversation. I remained calm and told her that I think need to speak to someone higher who could possibly help me...she said okay and promptly hung up the phone!
You hang up on a customer who thinks that they just ate a contaminated meal from your store......
Read moreI went through the drive-thru at 2 am. I had just landed a contract in the area for the summer. My crew will be working midnights. And we would have given this McDonald's a lot of business. When I went tonight I went to order for 9 people. That is a lot of money that they lost out on tonight. And it's also a lot of money that they will lose out on this summer. Because my crew or I will never come to this McDonald's again.. I asked for a caramel frappe . He told me the machine was down so he could not do it. I asked him if it was down to be clean. Or if it was broken. ((( only because this was the third time in one week that I had came in. Around 2 a.m. in the morning. And I was told that the machine was down. When I came in after work at 9 am. A staff from the morning crew informed me. That the midnight shift will tell you that the machine is down. Because they do not want to make the frappe. ))) He told me that's none of my concern. And if I was not going to order I need to leave the speaker. I asked him once again what was wrong with the machine. He told me to have a nice night. I told him I was not done talking. He once again told I need to order or I need to move away from the speaker and have a nice night. I told him that I will be calling Management in the morning. He said he did not care because this was not a corporate store. This is privately owned. And to do whatever I felt I wanted to do. I once again ask him what was going on with the machine. I got no reply. A couple seconds later I was told to move away from the speaker........
Read moreThey have some great people some people that are genuinely really cool but A lot of the time around like 2:00 am They just won't take your order and then when you pull around all of them are just on their phones or they'll say that they're switching to breakfast at like 2:20 to avoid taking your order and if it's not that their systems are down. Girlfriend works for McDonald's tells me that the area manager whatever they call it for Westland just doesn't care and that everything they say the majority of the time is a lie. When you drive around when they don't take your order you see them in there just sitting on their phones. They use excuses that are legitimate in some scenarios but they don't take that long and then they stretch those to take hours just so that they don't have to do anything and get paid for it. However, like I said there are some great people on staff here. Just got to come at the right time and most McDonald's in the Westland area are like this. If you go to Wyandotte or if you go to a place outside of Wayne county, most McDonald's aren't like this or not as bad. If their systems are down then they're only doing cash only. If they're not doing cash only then their grill is down. If their grill isn't down then they're switching to breakfast even though it's not even close to breakfast.
Just travel outside the Westland area and you'll find other normal McDonald's or really any 24-hour fast food place. They may not all be great, but it's specifically the Westland area that is this bad and it's for almost all...
