Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Westland

I think I'll probably avoid this location in the future.

My first time here they were really busy, I had a pick up order and I was ignored for a little while. Not the end of the world so gave them another chance.

My second time here, when I came inside to pick up my order, the woman at the window told another woman that the customer in drive-thru wanted a refund. This was met with a bunch of expletives about that customer. I'm not a hypocrite, I curse, so it wasn't that big of a deal, but it was definitely off-putting. There's a time and a place, and maybe you should go cuss about your customers in the back and not near the front counter?

Still, it wasn't the end of the world.

I went back this week having recently downloaded the app, which gives you the option of using a barcode or a numerical code that you can give them. Every other app I use like this, there's codes, so I chose the code option, and when I got to the window the woman was extremely rude to me because it wasn't the barcode option. It was unnecessary and I'm not sure what's wrong with this location, but all the employees just seem to be really miserable.

The Canton location is much better and everyone is always friendly. We'll go there...

My wife and I wanted something simple for lunch, and chicken stips with fries were sounding good. We looked over our usual lunch spots and noticed we had overlooked DQ since they moved a while back. With a short drive, we gave them a go.

First off, the place is in great shape and really clean. The parking lot was spacious, and there were no issues like potholes or trash. Even the outside dining area was orderly and clean. Inside was no different.

The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The drive-through was busier than the inside, I will add. There are no issues there.

As for the food, we went with the honey bbq sauced chicken strips with a medium fry. The chicken was crisp and tasty even with being tossed with sauce. Fries were crispy as well without too much salt. All in all, it's a good lunch basket. We order a small pop to pair with everything.

I have eaten here quite a bit. While the hamburgers were amazing when they open, not so much anymore. They use to be charbroil, but the last time I went, it taste like cheap generic hamburger. Let's not mention the blizzards. EVERY TIME I get a blizzard, it's basically just vanilla ice cream and M&Ms.....then only the top portion is a blizzard....the bottom half....straight vanilla ice cream....where's the chocolate syrup that's suppose to be added....m&m with every bite......for the price I want it loaded with the add-ins.
