I left this store feeling incredibly sad for the dogs. Smelled horrible in there, The dogs are stuffed in tiny cages with metal wire floor, I can only imagine how painful that is not to mention the long term damage this does to a puppy in terms of arthritis. I know for a fact they have worked with puppy mills in the past that were reported for keeping dogs in unsanitary, overcrowded facilities with sick animals. (Basic google search)

Staff and owner claim they are stuffed in tiny cages to “rest” but puppies need exercise and socialization at that age not to be shoved in a box and ignored for hours. If these are the conditions they are kept in during store hours when they are under public scrutiny, I can’t even imagine what the conditions are when the store is closed. They also claim to clean regularly but you can clearly tell just by the smell and looking around the store that it’s filthy.

My husband and I had just lost our baby boy of 12yrs. We were heart broken and went to Westland pet as I remembered them from years ago. We tried real hard to o a rescue but it was impossible because because of covid situation. So we went to Westland pet. We actually purchased 2 pups and as we r seniors was alot but great little guys Kim has been great and they r growing leaps and bonds. Had a great experience and Kim has been so helpful as it had been yrs since we had a pup much less 2 We even brought them to show her how they r doing. Can call anytime as to I almost forgot how to or about how playful little puppies r but really lived up the quiet house. We picked up our Westie puppy Scout from Westland Dog Food on 1/1/2019. We found Scout through their Facebook page and went to see her before Christmas. We had travel plans right after the holiday and knew it would not be ideal to bring a puppy home before leaving town. The staff and owners volunteered to keep Scout while we were out of town. We went to visit Scout twice before leaving town and each time we could tell that everyone in the store genuinely loved all of the puppies.
