A bit of a convoluted review but I think it is needed.
Show up on a Sunday and see plenty of open tables. We take a seat at one and wait to be served. Someone comes along and asks us if we checked in with the hostess. Well, no, it wasn't obvious that we had to as everyone was just sitting down randomly at tables. So we check in and get told it'll be an hour.
While we're sitting there, people are still randomly sitting at tables. Most of them actually get service at some point. At NO POINT, do we hear a hostess calling out names looking to seat people. Let me repeat that, at no point during our entire time, waiting at least a half hour plus sitting there eating, did we ever hear anyone's name called to be seated.
I finally ask the hostess and she looks at me for a solid minute before realizing that I had my name on the list. (Trust me, I stand out.) She said we're probably going to be seated in a minute. Pointed out that we, as well as many people have seated ourselves and not been kicked out of our tables with some getting served.
Server finally comes out and starts service. Hostess gave me one reason for the chaos, server another reason. At least get your stories straight?
Get our order in and our food came out within a reasonable time. (Odd since one of the reasons I was told was that the kitchen was backed up. Seems the kitchen wasn't backed up.) Food tastes great! Steak was good, scotch eggs even better.
I initially was going to leave one star until I had the food. Then I was going to elevate it to three stars thinking maybe it was a one off situation. (Which I'm sure that if the holder of this business account responds, they'll try to say.)
BUT! (That's a big but.) BUT, I was discussing this place with a couple of coworkers. They visited this restaurant a recent weekend also. They had the same exact experience. They were told to wait in the bar and they'd be called. They never heard a name called. Back down to one star. It would seem there's a management issue in the front of house.
This place is the proverbial excrement show. Being attached to O'Malley's, I think the family should look at how the new owners are ruining their name. I would not visit this place again until I hear it's under new management. And even then, if the hostess tells me there's a wait and I don't hear people getting called, I'm out. And...
Read moreA few things to note before going there. We checked in at 5:15pm and was told it would be 6:15pm. No issue.. we expected that on a busy fall night. We asked around 6pm if they were getting close. She told us we were next and then skipped over us several times. We asked her about it and then was sat next. We sat down at a table at 7:10pm.
The host must have been new. She had several list and was scattered.
After waiting 2 hours with a 9m baby.
(Any other time we would have left but we drove 30 minutes from KC. )
Once we finally got a table, our service was terrible! No refills were offered. They brought everyone’s food at different times. They brought the side of vegetables that were cold at the end for the baby. We had to track servers down to complete our order and they were rude because we weren’t their table.
Our fries were cold and other food was barley warm. We wanted to order deserts and we couldn’t find anyone who “wasn’t running around chaotic.”
I would say this isn’t a family style restaurant. They allowed smoking (actual cigarettes not vapes) on the deck where people were eating. I’ve been here before and it was great. I planned for 5 of us to drive to this restaurant based on past experience. Our teenagers rarely complain about service ended up leaving at 8:30pm to catch a movie because we still couldn’t find out waitress to check us out.
I understand that they may have been understaffed or maybe just overly busy. I’m very kind to that. However, this was by far the worst experience I’ve had out to eat. Usually the food makes up for the rest but our food wasn’t hot. I rated it a 3 bc I’ve been here before and they...
Read moreOur server was horribly rude, the lady that sat us was rude, it was terrible service throughout the meal. When we first sat down they told us we had to sit with whoever we wanted on our bill and we couldn't split up. Never in my life has a restaurant told me or my family who we could or couldn't sit next to. We of course sat how we wanted bc that's just ridiculous. At the end of the meal she would not split the tickets and insisted it must be on one single ticket and, but wait there's more!! We were the ONLY people in the entire restaurant. They obviously did not have other people to tend to etc. It was truly unreal. Will never go back and my family has frequent day trips to shop and eat in Weston and we will never eat here again and when people ask where's the best place to eat (bc they do) we will tell them to stay away from this establishment. It was absurd treatment before we even asked if she could split the bill so we can't even blame her rudeness on that. To answer your response.....we were there Tuesday June 24, 2025 and I think we got there around 1230pm. There were 15 of us. She could have had an amazing tip, even the kids ordered steak we weren't cheap by any means. Her loss. She had blonde hair in a pony tail. The lady that sat us was also blonde short hair. After our server brought the bill and we paid she started clearing plates away from people and kids without even asking if we were finished and moving and slamming things on the table. After that she went outside and never came back in. It...
