Smoke on the Water — Restaurant in Weston

Good atmosphere. Great place for a smoke. Drinks are about a 6.5/10. Will visit again.

Edit - 4/27/24 Was 4 stars, now 2. Filthy bar surface. Cleaned it as best that I could with the napkin placed in front of me. Bartender didn’t seem to care. No followup wipe down of the bar. After 20 mins, I left. Shouldn’t have to ask for the bar to be cleaned prior to me paying for service. Unacceptable! Unfortunate!

It’s clear to me that this establishment has a fundamental problem. Similar problem as my last visit. Your staff is clearly not trained to keep the bar surface clean. Different wait staff, same result. Unbelievable and unlucky. SMH.

Hi Larry, Thanks for reaching out. You are correct, perhaps your establishment isn’t the place for me. 2 different bartenders, 2 different dates. 4/27, left without a smoke or a drink. 5/19, cut my stay about 1 hour short.

I’ve been to cigar bars worldwide sir. Italy, UK, Canada, and countless in the US. I hold memberships at a few as well. I must say that qualities consistent among the top tier establishments are attentiveness and cleanliness from the bar and wait staff.

When I receive a new drink, I am accustomed to having my ash tray cleared as well as the bar cleaned if it requires it. The attached picture of my ash tray, at your establishment, was taken sometime after I had been waiting to have it cleared on my last visit, and well after my long ash fell, which I cleaned up. You have the video, how long had I been waiting eagerly ready to have a second cigar? 10 mins, 20 mins? Was the bar busy?

You have a beautiful facility with a great humidor. A great selection of cigars. The patrons are fantastic, as I have had great conversations with many of them. All of the bartenders have been polite and courteous. But please have your bar staff be more attentive, and just take that extra step towards ensuring everything is clean.

A Disappointing Experience with Room for Improvement - Sneaky practices

I've visited this place a few times over the years, and it has a chill, come-as-you-are vibe where you could just hang out. This I liked. Unfortunately, today was a completely different story.

I ordered a smoked Old Fashioned and was surprised by an upcharge for the "smoke"—something I’ve never experienced ANYWHERE. Even top-rated speakeasies like The Standard, Green Hat, or Unit B across Miami and Ft. Lauderdale dont do this. Really??!!! To top it off, the drink was tiny (despite the oversized ice cube), which made it feel even more disappointing at a steep and undeserving price point $21. I'm fine with paying if it's worth it, this did not! Too small. Hello - tell people when there is an upcharge... especially when it's some uncommon BS.

I also ordered wings to go, and it took nearly 30 minutes. When I checked my order before leaving, it was wrong. The waitress took it back to fix the mistake and offered me another drink. I thought this was her way of making up for the inconvenience—but I was wrong. I was charged for the extra drink and the blue cheese she casually asked me to choose between ranch when ordering. WTF - ummm, this usually comes with wings, and there were no veggies either. Again- tell people when you charge upcharges- especially for some BS.

When I brought this up, she said she'd inform the manager. I asked if he was there to speak direct.After sharing my concerns, manager Jeff's flat "ok" responses felt dismissive. Eventually, he offered to comp the wings, but the experience left a sour taste. He had "I could care less" vibes.

Great customer experiences matter, and sadly, this place fell short today. Wont be back...

Without a doubt, this is the best cigar bar........

I have been going to SOTW ever since it opened (and even prior, when it was in a small strip center)..... Here's why it's great:

1. The atmosphere - casual, relaxing, and welcoming.
2. Comfort/seating - plenty of couches inside, and very nice seating areas outside to enjoy the surrounding water, fountain, and green spaces.
3. People - non-pretentious, friendly, and interesting people frequent here. I have enjoyed meeting some great people. Many professionals and good networking during the afternoon, and fun people in the evenings.
4. Staff - The servers are welcoming, friendly, attentive, and they all work together to make sure all is good. Really can't say enough about how great they all are.
5. The bar - great selection of scotch, bourbon, liquor, spirits, beer, and just about anything else you want.
6. Last, but certainly not least......The Humidor!! - This place has the biggest, most extensive and well-stocked humidor anywhere around. Although most people gravitate to their 'go-to' cigar, which they will probably have in stock, the staff in the humidor are always willing to make some suggestions, and the huge variety of choices they have allows you to also try something new.

If you're into cigars, this place is a must..... and, even if you're not into cigars, this is a great place to come enjoy the drinks...
