0 Star Review: A Cautionary Tale from a Sushi Lover
I’m writing this six days after ordering takeout from Ginza. Let me be clear: I’ve had sushi from coast to coast — upscale spots, hole-in-the-wall gems, you name it. But never in my life have I experienced what Ginza put me through.
Within 24 hours, I had full-blown, life-altering, toilet-destroying diarrhea that has still not stopped. We’re talking booty-splashing, body-draining levels of illness that sent me into urgent care, where I was prescribed the same medication you’d take if you got sick from drinking untreated water abroad. That’s how bad it was.🪱
This wasn’t a “sensitive stomach” moment — it was a serious, gut-wrecking experience that completely threw off my health, hydration, and sanity for nearly a week. I’ve been sick, angry, and shocked that a place with such hype could serve food this reckless.
The fish? Overhyped. The outcome? Unforgivable. Honestly, they’re lucky I’m not SUING.
Do. Not. Recommend. Eat at your own risk — and keep some electrolytes and toilet paper close. The worst part is that this medication doesn’t work. My doctor said I have to go to the hospital. How generous Ginza, I ordered sushi and you gave me...
Read moreIt's been a while since we have eaten here but our favorite server Lek started working here. So we followed her. The restaurant is in a shopping center with plenty of parking and lots of other great stores. The place itself is clean and modern-looking. It must do a great takeout business since there were at least a half dozen take-out orders waiting. They don't do happy hour but it's not that big of a place. The menu is not as extensive as bigger restaurants but it had all the basics plus some treats. We started out with drinks. My wife asked for a gin concoction. Lek saw that she didn't seem to like it and immediately replaced it with a different drink. The other ladies got fancy mixed drinks which they loved. I got my usual hot sake. For appetizers, we had octopus balls ( not sure correct name but that's what I called them). They were hit and delicious. We also had the seaweed salad. The Korean calamari was on the tiny side which didn't add to the flavor, unfortunately. We had the Love Boat for two which came on a plate. Sushi and sashimi were fresh. The Miso soup was tasty. The yaki soba was just okay. The dessert was gobbled right up. Ginza is a good family restaurant with good food...
Read moreEverything about the place is average: the food, the atmosphere. Nothing extraordinary. However, I must give it only one star because we were practically kicked out when the clock struck ten. We had ordered another drink not five minutes before. The waiter brought it, then dropped the check and hounded us until we paid. Another couple had only sat down to eat twenty minutes prior, and I could hear from across the room the waiter hounding them about the time and the customers responding in a very confused way. This wasn't a bar where legally people had to be finished with their drinks at closing time. This is a restaurant in which I dropped over $100 to be rudely kicked out. It wasn't even like we were overstaying our welcome, hanging around until midnight. It was five minutes after ten, the posted closing time! In restaurants, the closing time means they stop serving food then, but it doesn't mean I have to stop eating the food they'd already served me! Horrible service. I will never go...
