Summary ā Newer South Indian restaurant with best Dosa in Connecticut. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. There is plenty of parking and lots of table for a dine in option. (Full Review Below)
Atmosphere ā The restaurant is located within a Walmart/Stop&Shop plaza in Rocky Hill, CT. It used to be a Diner restaurant in past. The building is on left side as you enter the plaza. The plaza is in a very safe area. Dining area is broken out in small section on left and bigger space on right side.
Parking ā Plenty of free parking within the plaza.
Service ā Service was very good with staff checking on you multiple times to see if we needed anything, kept on filling up the water glass, etc. The owner of the restaurant (Ramana) also stopped by to ensure the food was good. He even showed concern when he saw that Sambar (which came with Dosa) was still full; he thought we didnāt like it, which was not the case.
Food ā So we came for a quick bite, we already had a late lunch at a local event, so we were somewhat full already but wanted to try out this place. We ordered just couple items, Onion Rava Masala Dosa and Idli/Medu Vada. My wife like Idli and I like Medu Vada. They are individual item on the menu, but the owner was nice enough to make it as a combo platter for us which came with 2 Idli and 4 Medu Vada. Both items were fantastic. It came with Coconut and Tangy Chutney and Sambar, all of which were fantastic. The Onion Rava Masal Dosa was also very good. The masala in it (potato filling) was very good, best in Connecticut. Most places just have potato with very little spice/taste in it. This place did it right by mashing up the potato good with good amount of spices in it (itās not spicy, itās very flavorful). They do provide extra chutney and sambar as needed, free of charge. The restaurant does have a daily lunch buffet for very reasonable price with extensive menu items. The weekend lunch buffet has over 30 items including dosa. The regular menu and buffet has non-veg items too (100% halal as confirmed by the owner). The regular menu has very extensive non-veg items.
Price - Very reasonable price. The menu items are priced reasonably but if you want to get best bang for your buck, the weekday lunch buffet is only $14 and the weekend lunch buffet which has few more items is just $17.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was our first time at this restaurant and we LOVED everything about it. I am a vegetarian and my husband is a meat eater. We both got the buffet and were amazed at the variety of foods - especially the vegetarian part of the buffet where there are usually minimal choices. The food was exceptional and the service was, as well. I could have stayed all day at the buffet and not tried everything. There is also a great mix of spicy and mild choices and the staff was so pleasant in describing the foods to us if we didn't know based on their label. Very simple atmosphere with canned sodas and lovely servers who are attentive. We have already gone back again. If you like Indian food you will love it but it would also be a great place to try Indian food for the first time or to take your family for some fun. Very kid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe most delicious Indian food in the area. When ordering, a lot of advice was offered and we appreciated being asked about the desired spice level for each item. We dined in on a Saturday night and were surprised by a nice bottle of red blend. We enjoyed Chicken 65 as an app (outstanding), Chicken Korma, Butter Chicken and Gutti Vankaya and all were outstanding. We forgot to mention a nut allergy when ordering and when we inquired about the Korma after it was delivered, the chef immediately remade it without a problem. A very lovely family run restaurant that we'll definitely return to. Highly recommend, make a beeline to this...
