The kingdom of heaven has come near to you. One star review deserved for horrible treatment. I got interrupted by a woman employee. I was asked a question, but then I was immediately cut off with no chance to answer. The woman even answered for me which was really rude. "Can I help you? No! Ok." Was pretty much how it went. She turned her back to me and walked away. None of the other many employees around, even offer to help. There was a guy employee who would not speak to me, and was extremely closed off to me, standing far away at a distance, not being welcoming. I entered inside, and I was trying to see if I was welcomed to eat there. I was there, several days ago, to order a drink, I felt extremely mistreated, and rejected and it felt very unfair. Several days ago, upon entering, I asked an employee guy if the bar was open, he said yeah. I went to the bar and placed a drink order with the bartender. He said ok, and turned away as if he was going to begin making it. It was then that a woman employee came over towards me, with a closed off approach, not nice, saying that they were closed, but she wouldn't become patient or kind with me, she was very one sided and rude. She got frustrated all on her own and said out loud that she was off work anyways, and walked off. I thought well she's off of work and upset, doesn't mean that the bar isn't closed, plus I had already placed an order with the bartender, so I was hoping that he was still making the motions to make it. He kept stalling it seemed, and while I think minutes later when someone asked or said that the bar was closed, he was still opening up a brand new bottled beer right in front of me, for another guest. This just seemed like blatantly avoiding to serve me, while continuing to serve others. Everyone seemed to begin avoiding me, while there were many employees around and still other guests. It definitely felt like discrimination. Finally, there was a time for me to speak up about what I was going through. I explained that I had the right to speak up about being treated unfairly, in the midst of many looking at me, as if I was somehow in the wrong, which I wasn't. It didn't seem like anyone wanted to take responsibility for their own actions. They all seemed upset, and didn't care, and just wanted me out of there. I finally broke through to them, received an apology, and a resolution was finally coming about. I was walked outside and was offered a soda. While waiting for it, the host guy who let me in, but then ignored to help me later, came outside, saw me, and still thought there was an issue, even after things were being resolved. A server woman gave me a soda to go, with a bag of bread, and she said I was welcomed to return some other time. He seemed to have held an unnecessary grudge. So tonight I wanted to return for dinner, but I wanted to check in first and see if I was still welcomed to first. It seemed like there was a new manager woman there, at the front. She seemed very impatient. She did not care to listen to or understand what I was trying to get at. I think the same host guy from before was lying to her about me and I think that was a big part of why no employee would come up and talk to me. It felt very wrong to have waited by the door, being ignored, while other guests were being seated. It felt just as bad as the last time, except this time police were called. When employees and management are not paying attention, don't care, and are choosing to remain upset rather than working towards a resolve, then they are like little children, dysfunctional, and immature, and can't do anything for themself, and would only have to be able to rely on a police officer to mediate such a situation. If there was any maturity or professionalism in any of those many Red Lobster employees, then I wouldn't be sharing like this. I don't recommend going there. I rebuke...
Read moreI really wish I could leave a zero star review, because this is genuinely the worst dining experience myself and my partner have had in our lives. So much so that I'm going out of my way to write my first ever online review.
Where do I start? First off, our waitress was not a good waitress. I try not to be too picky with stuff like this as I worked in food service for a long time and understand people have bad days, but it was astonishing how poor her service was.
Here's a list of things that just seemed to make the waiting experience terrible: The original exchange was incredibly awkward. Just minor interactions that made the ordering process more complicated than it needed to be. I asked for a Pina Colada and got asked "do you want alcohol in that?" We wanted to try the new boil and asked to add a few extra items into it and were told "that's not possible." I'm sorry? I can understand not being able to remove existing items from line items as a lot of stuff like that is pre-prepped, but I can't really fathom how it would be difficult to have the cooks add it in prior to cooking our food. I've never went to any seafood place that offers boils where you can't add extra shrimp, scallops, lobster, etc to the mix. When she brought us our biscuits, she brought 3. Two were so small I ate them in one bite. Perhaps I expect too much here but my thought is that you could be reasonable with what you give two people as a starter. We ordered two items from the starter menu to start our dinner, and they were brought out at the same time with the boil. So by the time we finished our starter the boil was cold. My Pina Colada honestly tasted like it didn't have alcohol in it. My partner finished her first drink and wanted a refill and it took until we were brought our courses for her to ask to refill, otherwise I was going to ask anyways. She walked by 5-6 times prior to this.
The food? Was terrible.
We ordered a Cajun boil seasoning and the seasoning combination looked like garlic, black pepper, and butter. It was honestly nasty. Our crab was over cooked and incredibly stringy. Honestly the only redeeming quality of the boil was the lobster.
My partner ordered the chicken alfredo, which she said was actually pretty decent.
I ordered the stuffed seafood mushrooms. I took one bite and immediately spit out the bite and got sick to my stomach. It was greasy, soggy, and tasted terrible.
All in all I was not impressed with neither the food nor the drinks. I was actually disgusted, especially when I got the cheque. The price we paid for the food was OUTRAGEOUS, especially considering the quality of the service and food.
Oh not to mention, we were given no extra napkins or wet wipes when we ordered a boil. I had to hobble out of the booth with hands in the air to go wash my hands before I could even get my wallet out to pay.
I'm really disappointed in this experience, and honestly wish I could just get a full on refund for the money I spent. Funny enough, my partner actually wanted to get chinese takeout and just go home and eat. I pushed to go as I wanted to try the new boils that are part of Red Lobster's pivot to try and revive business. If this is the standard across the corporation, the investors might as well go ahead and call it a quits. I know that I won't be...
Read moreNot really great food. The lobster tails are tiny no matter what you get. Nothing on the menu shows you can order a whole lobster so we had no idea we could or I would have just gotten that I was less than pleased when the server didn't even offer us a whole lobster or even pasta with the other meal he had come back and said oh 5$ more for the pasta with shrimp scampi. ???!!! We already paid 25 dollars for the meal.... We waited 16 minutes for biscuits we waited a while for drinks just a soda... We couldn't get draft blue moon because the draft pipe was out. I mean you come driving out 30 miles for a great meal and this is what we get for a bday meal on top of it ... My steak was way under cooked, the waiter forgot about outlr extra sour cream and butter so when he got back with it after taking other orders out potatoes were cold. Now this is after spending 250$ on our meal for the four of us. We got no wet naps for our food or bibs extra napkins since they do not do lobster bibs anymore.... But the place has gone down I think. The people pull into the driving space outside and blinds everyone sitting in the booths so we all kind of have to put up our arms to cover our eyes from the lights.... It's sad that this is the old red lobster that I remember. We won't be going back until something changes. I still have a hard time understanding why no linguini with shrimp scampi but linguini with shrimp Alfredo .. IDK just needs a revamp. Or better management and waiters. It's very tight inside too people constantly walking right next to you to be seated and coughing and talking over the tables... Over priced for what you get I have the trio that was 46.00 plus charged me extra bc I wanted bacon Mac n chz. Which was luke warm. Parking is plentiful and in a good part of town. Lighting was nice inside not too loud. The menu is small to me it's all the same stuff just different ways of cooking it. It is a lot of shrimp on menu. The steaks are only 3 to choose from. The sides were cold my rice was not good at all it was old tasting and cold. It was pilaf under grilled shrimp the grilled shrimp was great. Only 5 small but...
