ZERO cashier checkout aisles open. Only self-checkout stations are open, in the far end of the store, away from the entrance & exit. A total of 3 employees were seen during my entire shopping visit. One young man, in the very back of the store, fronting yogurt and chatting up the customers. Talking about majoring in accounting or microeconomics. Two employees at the front of the store just having a prolonged conversation between themselves, beyond the closed (non)- Service Desk. I had to yell to them several times to get some assistance with the self-checkout kiosk. Opinion: If the store management doesn't care enough to have some employees responsible for customer service, it should just close. I support live cashiers because people need jobs and customers deserve and generally respond positively to even the brief human interaction of an effective and empathic store clerk. The interaction can be supportive & eye-opening for the cashier, as well. Cashiers can also be good representatives and ambassadors for their employers. Other comments: the stone fruits were too hard. I thought that I'd buy one preach to give it a chance to Town, even though I was sceptical that it ever would before it would root. The necessity to look up the fruit at the self checkout kiosk convinced me it wasn't worth it. I decided that the store could keep the fruit. Also: all of the quart milk containers which I checked had outdated best sale dates, so I didn't buy milk. Peanut butter was $1.19 more expensive than the same brand & size peanut butter jar which I bought recently in Walgreens. I had planned on buying some more for a baking project, but of course did not. This store might as well close a few hours earlier if they choose to have no employees interacting positively with customers. Perhaps a row of vending machines would suffice, or a sign alerting people that Walmart is right at the other end of the mall, with an enlarging...
Read moreI will never ever come to this store again! Went here tonight 11/8/17 with my husband at 830 pm. When we go to checkout there is only one man working and only one lady he was checking out. There were no other customers around us at all, the whole store was empty. We get to the register he tells us that he is closed. I asked him where else in the store can we go to checkout. There are 20 registers and not one person working. The only thing open was the self checkout. The manager and 2 other employees were standing at the customer service desk, no one doing anything. I go over to the self checkout with alot of items. The manager then says ok I will check you out by the time I was already halfway through checking out. Then a girl comes over who was just watching us checkout, continuing to say that there are no more hours that's why no one's working and that if I call and complain they will have more hours. I was so upset! I couldnt believe the level of customer service in this store, never seen anything like it. They should completely be closed down. Then im goingto be told that its not here fault that they are standing around not doing anything. I will never spend my money here ever again. Very...
Read moreDear Stop & Shop Customer Service,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction regarding a recent shopping experience at your store. I have consistently chosen Stop & Shop over other retailers, even when I had alternatives nearby. However, this recent incident was deeply disappointing.
On my last visit, I noticed a promotional sign stating that the price for three packs of bottled water was $10.88. Based on that information, I selected three packs. At checkout, I was charged $26.07. I immediately questioned the discrepancy and was informed that the promotion only applied with a digital coupon. This was not clearly communicated on the sign.
I decided to return two of the three packs and was expecting a refund of $17.38. However, I only received $8.01. I pointed out the miscalculation, but my concern was dismissed, and no correction was made.
As a result of this experience, I have chosen not to shop at Stop & Shop again. I also discarded my loyalty card.
I hope this feedback helps improve clarity in promotional signage and...
