Idk why all the reviews are glazing this place, because my sandwich and fries were absolutely garbage…
First of all they gave me an absolutely heaping portion of fries which I was happy about until I tried them and realized they’re the most bland, frozen, half fried days ago, sat under a heat lamp until now, stale pieces of sad cardboard I’ve ever tasted.
But the sandwich looked alright! Holy cow is this NOT a nashville hot chicken sandwich. It tasted like teriyaki and the breading was turning to mush and falling off. There was also a burnt sugar taste in every bite that overwhelmed the flavor significantly.
Seeing the toppings on the menu, I had high hopes that this would be an authentic rendition but whoever is in charge of this sandwich doesn’t know what’s what.
“Nashville hot” seasoning is a mixture of hot cooking oil and spices, most commonly brown sugar and paprika, with varying levels of cayenne to control heat. Because the base of Nashville hot seasoning is a hot oil, not a water based sauce, it will not make the breading soggy.
Unfortunately, this filet had been fried and then tossed in a water based sauce so by the time I was two bites in, the breading was coming off in sheets and turning to a mushy mess as you can see in on of my photos.
Really sad experience, had high hopes based on the price but I wouldn’t recommend this to anybody. Truly low quality...
Read moreThis place is great! Don’t expect a grandiose meal, but rather a very tasty and high calorie, mostly fried meal that is done well and with some real uniqueness. It’s mostly fried chicken - duh, explicit in its name - with some standard hot sauces - duh, again explicit in its name - added on top. Had the Nashville Chicken sandwich, opting on the mild side - ok, I’m a bit of a wimp when it comes to unknown heat - could be anything from tame aioli to Man vs Food hot-sweats and sphincter-burning defecations. It was very crispy and delicious, especially with the coleslaw and pickles on top. Heat was very tolerable. All very good. I liked the fries very much, disagreeing with some other reviews here that they were just average. In my view, they were McDonald’s-esque - thin, crispy and very tasty! Not much by way of ambiance inside, but plenty of tables and reasonably fast service. Little worried if they got slammed with customers that it might take a while to get your food, but service was reasonable for my visit where there were only a couple other customers. Go for the basics here - fried chicken on the heat side - you...
Read moreGot the Nashville chicken medium spicy and some tenders and fries. Chicken sandwich was absolutely perfect and the medium spice was perfect for me. The tenders were buttery and delicious, will definitely recommend both, but the fries were spot on. I saw some other reviews calling the fries horrible but they were perfectly airy and flavorful.
Also saw some reviews about expensiveness but tell me what you expect from a small business serving you perfect fresh chicken, that you just can’t argue with. Speaking of fresh, the chicken was so moist and airy to perfection and could hear them frying it in the back.
The atmosphere was very small business like, no one else inside, maybe 2 employees and very clean, the bathroom was nicer than mine at home, and the tables were all spotless.
All of the reviews under 5 stars were completely crazy, calling the prices crazy and the food bad, if you aren’t leaving this place with your mouth burning and writing a 5 star review on the way out, your completely crazy and will never...
