I'm going to start off by saying that the staff in front of the house needs to welcome customers. If not, this is how you lose customers. My husband and I went here around 6pm on 1/10/23 for the very first time. It wasn't busy and we walked right up to the counter. The girl manning the register didn't say a word. Apparently, husband was put off because he said something to me when we left to go home. This man never complains about anything. We could barely hear the girl when she asked us questions. At this point, I was beginning to worry if we made a mistake coming here. After ordering, we sat down and a few minutes later our food was brought to the table. I'm presuming the other girl who was putting pick up order together was the manager. No personality either. Anyway, I ordered the chicken tortilla soup which was good and a half veggie sandwich which was good. My husband ordered the 1/2 Caesar salad which was fine, however, his 1/2 deli sandwich, (I don't recall which one) was pretty thin on meat. It was like a bread sandwich. I wish they didn't have buckets for drinks. It's way too much to drink. Prior to leaving, a man came in and asked if they were open because no one was engaged with him, like with my husband and I. I don't know what it is like during the day with the front of the house, however, having staff that isn't friendly or welcoming is going to be a problem with a lot...
Read more3/3/204 - 3:00pm ~From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was not welcoming or pleasant. Rude cashier with an attitude who was not helpful during our visit, along with a woman next to her. Had questions that they were not helpful with answering and it seemed like we were a bother to them. Manager, was rude about my motherâs service dog which she needs at all times, and the food was mid at best. Coming from 9 years in food service management, there is so many ways to come across to paying guest. Creating an experience in which your team looks happy, willing to help and is friendly is KEY. No smiles, or thank youâs from anyone that made it known that we were not welcomed there. Manager (African american male) was in back the entire time except the time he came out into the lobby to question my mothers service dog, to which i then heard heard him go to the back and talk about her and my entire family to the other cashier who first took our order, while i was getting drink refills at the register. Iâd advise if you are going to talk about the people who just paid to be in your restaurant, maybe just do it a bit more discretely? The entire experience was bad. Not friendly and just plain rude. I will gladly take my business somewhere else. Just so upsetting because all the other businesses in the area are...
Read moreMy first visit to McAlisterâs Deli in Wheaton was nothing short of fantastic! I was thoroughly impressed with the freshly made and delicious food. We decided to explore a few new menu items, including the lasagna soup, the McAlisterâs club, and the spicy Creole sandwichâall of which were outstanding. The ultimate nachos topped with vegan chili were a hit, and we couldn't resist trying dessert: the red velvet cheesecake and the brookie & brownie were divine!
Their menu really caters to everyone, including kids; we enjoyed the Mac & cheese and cheese pizza, which were both hits at our table. For drinks, the Witches Brew and their refreshing lemonade tea were perfect accompaniments. Iâm now seriously obsessed with their lemonade tea and the spicy Creole salad!
The staff was incredibly friendly and offered great recommendations, making our experience even better. The service was impeccable, and I canât wait to return for another round of deliciousness. Highly recommend...
