I'd actually say 4.5 stars. Many of the craft beer selections were WAY over priced. Wife and I had dinner here at 6 pm on a Saturday. We had a 6 pm reservation, arrived early, and still were seated promptly. Big beer selection. For dinner I chose one of the specials, the sautƩed Lake Superior Whitefish. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked, served with a pasta and vegetable mixture that had just enough seasoning and red pepper flakes for heat. The plus here is that there were two rather large fillets, enough for another meal at home! My wife had the Burgatory burger, which was good, and again, large enough to bring half of it home. The fries were not very good, somewhat over cooked. It's always been my experience that when potatoes are cut fresh for fries, the wrong kind of potato results in overcooking and sogginess. Drinks were nothing special, I had a bottle of Edmund Fitzgerald, a favorite of mine, the lady, a rum and coke as there was a special on drinks. I would still definitely recommend, but substitute something else for fries.

This place not only has a good selection of drinks, but it also has surprisingly delicious, high-end food! I’m always surprised by how awesome the food is—please see the pictures. I went the other day because I had a coupon for a free dessert since it’s my birthday month. I went and got the shrimp tacos, which are my favorite, French onion soup which is the most legit I’ve tasted in DuPage county, hot tea, and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Bread Pudding, which was life-affirming. My husband always gets the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich with no slaw, bc he’s hardcore like that. I’ve had it, too, and I think it’s great with the slaw to cut some of the heat. It’s a great place to go for lunch, dinner, drinks, and I think they have a trivia night, too. The women’s bathroom has a handicapped stall and one or two regular stalls. Very clean. You can totally bring kids here, too, which is nice. They’ve got fries and chicken tenders for the persnickety eaters. āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø from the Special Needs Mom

Chose Warrens Ale House for Mother’s Day brunch before heading to the arboretum because they took reservations. Our party of 8 was sat right away. Service was a little slow, but expected with the crowds today. Server was very friendly. They struggled with temps of our food, but otherwise things were pretty tasty. Pretzel and cheese curds were good, Brie was underwhelming. The Chilaquiles were excellent. The Broke Yoke was ok - but the pork belly tasted like dry chicken. The potatoes that accompanied it were cold. The shrimp Benedict didn’t have any hollandaise sauce, just egg yolks. The French toast came with very cold sausage, which the server was quick to replace. Maybe lunch choices would have been better than brunch.

So I just tried this place for the first time and I'm mixed in my feelings. The food was good so that's not a problem and our waitress was great, but there was a discrepancy not addressed by the manager properly. I ordered a beer that was quoted 20oz on the menu, but I received 16.9 oz also known as a pint. Technically a pint is 20oz and I will quote a source here shortly to prove my point, but first let's explain.

The manager comes over and says the sediment or better known as the head is what makes it 20oz. Well that's just not true, as a 20 oz beer is 20oz of liquid. They should've just said a pint and left it at that rather than boast 20oz at 8$ mind you. Due to the dishonesty I have to knock the stars off. Not to mention albeit good food but overpriced at times. If I had been treated properly then perhaps we could've given four stars.

As one reviewer stated, one and done. 65$ (2ppl) later I don't think this place was worth the bill. Sorry but that's the cold hard fact of it. Taking advantage of people in a financial aspect is unforgivable.

Here's the site link in beer etiquette if you will-

Pint is 20oz not 16oz

In America, bars discriminate when they serve you a 16 oz glass, as 20 oz is a legal pint, not imperial but a pint glass.

Allover Europe, Russia, Canada, Australia, South America, China and etc, all beer is poured in 20 oz pints. Germany pints are larger from 22oz and bigger for example.

But the argument here is, America is cheap and plus you have to tip 10% to 15% on top of that. Bars are ripping people off if they don't serve you 20 oz to the rim and the head doesn't count.

Hopefully this helps someone because my money is hard earned and I don't appreciate being...

Sigh!! Revisited this restaurant 12/31/24 after a few years. This restaurant went downhill for the longest time, in every aspect. We stayed away.

Fortunately, saw ads about some changes , which included a remodel and some menu changes.

There was some nice changes to the design. Pleasant. Ordered the chicken wings, they were pretty good. The server has been there a long time and he is outstanding.

I have a career in business banking both corporate and community. There are choices for business accounts based on the size of the business and the type that’s chosen by the customer. There are fees on the type of business account chosen based on the customer’s choice of bank products used , such as credit card and debit cards. processing equipment, multiple transactions processing by the banks and the service provided with equipment provided. They all cost money. The two major credit card brands allow the business to bring in more patrons. They discourage the businesses from passing on those fees to the customer. Because it brings in more business.

The costs of products, food, groceries, gas cars.. everything has increased rapidly for consumers. In saying this, the decision for a business to add additional Sur charges in addition to high costs of restaurant food, for using your debit card or credit is just not right.

Im not an expert, but i know what I know from experience. .

For this reason, unfortunately I will not be giving this business my patronage. My decision only.

I wish this business the best and hope they thrive. But please, don’t pass the costs of doing business to the customer.

This is a...

My husband and I have been regulars since 2013. On 6/23/21, we decided to go for dinner since it was close by. Upon arriving, it was very busy, however, we were able to get seats up at the bar. Ever since restrictions lifted due to COVID, there's only been one bartender manning the entire restaurant. The bartender this night we haven't seen before and we waited 10 minutes before she acknowledged us and cleaned off the bar before handing us the drink menus. We just sat there waiting for give our drink orders and we still needed food menus. She was dealing with another guy wanting a mixed drink and she couldn't locate the bottles. We realized it was going to be a long night waiting for service so we got up and left. Ended up going to another brewery and we were served right away and the food was hot and good. We won't be going back to Warrens until they have more bartenders manning the bar.

Update: Husband and I went there on 2/18/22 for a night cap and it was dirty inside. The place looks tired and worn down and the bathrooms were worse. We had one drink and left. Either they don’t care or there’s new management or both. We use to enjoy going there. Not now. Servers weren’t wearing masks and some customers left without wearing one. Guess they figured...
