The ice cream is all right. Their menu is more confusing than the train map of Paris. Great place for a late-night hangout and a late-night ice cream with friends and family. Some of their concretes are pretty good, but some of the other concretes one must be cautious about. Cautious, because they may look beautiful and tasty in the picture, but it is an entirely different story when you get one both in taste and how it looks. Their parking space is very limited during busy nights (on summer weekends and when there is no school). Their drive-thru gets super crazy and busy specifically at this location – primarily when school is out. Wait times sometime will exceed on weekend nights both in drive-thru or in-person/on foot. There is no inside dine-in at this location. There are benches outside the store in front and along the parking lot. Overall, it is a clean and a pleasant place if you decide to eat your ice cream on-sight. They do have bathrooms in the back which is extremely helpful when you have kids. The staff is very friendly, and they try their best to make everyone walk away happy. I will recommend this place in this town if you want to have a late-night ice cream and want to hang out with friends and family outdoors.

After the recent disappointed visit to Kopp's in WI, we decided to try another frozen custard joint in the sticks, it is a 20 miles drive from downtown but it is better than going to the other locations in the south side. The custard base (vanilla) is the same as others, I still see people calling this ice creame in their reviews so it is true that not many people know the difference between ice creame and frozen custard, it is really just the egg yolk. People shouldn't compare ice cream and frozen custard, they are not the same. What I like about this place are the options, unlike the 4 daily options at Kopp's, Andy's has much more to offer, just read the menu!

Custard is tasty but I personally think many of the items can be too sweet. The stolen brownie sundae is pretty good, lots of hot fudge, and pecans. Their seasonal strawberry shortcake was not bad, but the shortcake was more like a bad biscuit, very dense and a little too fake vanilla flavors. Ordering is usually the fastest but the parking lot layout kind of sucks. When the drive thru line is long, it often blocks cars in or makes it nearly impossible to pull out of the space. Items can get expensive. I'd estimate spending between 7-12 dollars per person depending on the size ordered.

Not sure where the customer is expected to sit and enjoy the overpriced treat they just purchased. The whole concept is...lacking to put it nicely. There are probably 30+ parking spots so they expect 60+ people but have just benches (w/o tables) for about 10. Is the customer supposed to drive to Andy's Custard, park their car, purchase, eat custard while walking along the busy road, come back and drive away? Oh, and to order you have to gather around the menu, then maybe write down or take a picture of what you want to order so you don't forget by the time it's your turn to order; there is no menu behind the register and the order taker cannot hear you through the small window since they don't wear a mic/headset to overcome the operation noise. A visibly pregnant mom with 3 kids in tow and no place to sit and eat. Nevermind that no one got up to offer their bench seat even though they weren't enjoying any products (that's just society in general these days), but you'd at least expect a socially-centered establishment to offer outdoor tables where people gather for ice cream! No? What am I missing here? This was our 1st and last visit because we had to use some gift cards. Had I paid $33 for 5 half-melted treats, I would've been even more disappointed with the whole experience. And maybe hose off the custard puddles so people don't carry it into their clean cars and homes. Gross. Ghetto. NW suburbs ghetto. Nothing special here, except a good BUSN101 case study for failed...

ZERO STARS. My order was miraculously ready after 20 minutes as I am asking for a refund, no exaggeration.

Saturday May 20, 2023 at 10:15 pm I placed an order in the walk-in window for a small triple chocolate concrete. It was a busy night so I asked for a receipt to remember my order, but the cashier only replaced the empty roll in machine when I asked, and apologized that the machine's back-printing all the orders ahead of me, no idea at this point what time they've forgotten to replace the receipts and haven't been giving customers their receipts.

A lady employee announced three times for a similar chocolate item but no one collected so the employees stored this item in their freezer. Everyone who ordered ahead of me have received their order and left. Then I remembered, other customers taking what they think their order was as the lady employee wes announcing multiple times as if it was a scene in the meat market, while holding concrete and custards in her hands, which made it difficult to verify since no receipts were distributed prior to me.

The coworkers were discombobulated with the orders, inattentive to status of receipts, and did not hand me a receipt confirming my refund stating the system doesn't print refund receipts.

Don't waste your time, avoid at all costs for your own sanity. I'll have to check my bank now in the coming weeks for the refund...

Andy's has the absolute best frozen custard around! You can taste the rich flavors no matter what you choose.. and custard is literally made fresh every hour! (You can watch it as it's made right before your eyes) 😋 Custard flavors are chocolate or vanilla but the variety of toppings are vast. They do offer seasonal items as well so it's always good to check in for your favorites like peaches, key lime pie, pumpkin, etc.

As for the staff, I've got to applaud everyone on the superb job they do. Every time I stop in, I'm always greeted with a warm smile by personable employees. You can tell just by walking up to the window that the atmosphere is fun, upbeat, and a great place to make wonderful memories with friends and family... Also, kuddos to Andy's for their super speedy (but never rushed) service. I spent under 1 minute and 20 seconds in the drive-thru and that included me ordering and receiving my treats. Nonetheless, I never felt like I was just another paying customer. I felt valued and welcome. ☺

I'd highly recommend Andy's Frozen Custard- Mount Prospect, IL to anyone and everyone looking to enjoy a tasty treat no matter the occasion or even if it's -10° outside. Go get some custard!

Keep up the great work Andy's!...
