First time going to Wendy's since moving here, a year ago. Good location. Parking lot was fairly clean. Drive thru traffic seemed to be moving well. On my arrival at the west door, there was what looked like a large order of fries, just dumped in the walkway. There was an employee standing 10 feet away, on their phone. Said employee walked back into the store, maybe five minures after I did. No attempt to clear the mess then, nor anytime while I was still there. Had to step over it again, on my way out. This turned out to be my only complaint about the property.
I counted at least nine staff, in the kitchen. Everybody was doing something, not just standing around. I don't know if this was a normal crew, or perhaps, a shift change. The young man, at the register, was very pleasant, helpful, and knew his job. My order was processed quickly, and I was on my way. My wife and I wanted Baconators. I wanted some fries. And, as a treat, a couple of Frosty's, one chocolate, and one of the new strawberry ones.
The burgers were good. The fries, which are advertised as being so good, that they are preferred 2-1 over McDonald's? A couple of bites, and I think I knew why that bunch of fries was on the ground, just outside their door. Better than McDonald's? Sorry, no. These wouldn't even make my top 10 of good fries. And these were hot and fresh. I watched them come out of the fryer, get packaged, and go into my bag, within a few seconds. Fryer to being eaten, in less than a minute, kind of hot and fresh. But no joy here.
Now, let me tell you about our "treat", the Frosty's. The recipe for the chocolate, must have been modified, somehow, in the last year or so. It did not taste the same. And it was nowhere near as good as before. Sad. Now, we have the NEW strawberry Frosty. We had high hopes for this item. It was marginal, at best, and that was on first taste. Further tasting produced a dislike for the product. What really pushed us into our unhappiness with this sort-of strawberry-flavored concoction, occured shortly after eating it...both of us started burping an artificial-strawberry-flavored chemical taste. Difficult to accuately describe, but very off-putting.
I gave a 3 star rating, based primarily on the overall condition of the store, and the staff. It would have been higher, but the food did not please us. The actual food, the fries and frosty's, came nowhere near the hype, shown on TV. Better luck next time, if there ever is a...
Read moreWent late on the way home from work with the lady - Saturday night. We didn’t know they were minutes from closing before we ordered but we ordered a couple of chicken sandwiches and the night manager that was almost done prepping for closing made us fresh chicken sandwiches and fresh fries. I can’t confirm any different, but he said that the wait was going to be a quick second because he cooked our stuff fresh. This typically is a normal situation however, I have had experiences very recently where whoever is handling the food has given us whatever had been sitting under the heating lamps if they were closing due to not wanting to cook anymore or have to re-clean the fryers or what not.
Whoever handled our order that night - thank you for caring.
I don’t write reviews often but we had a really bad experience at another restaurant right after this experience and it made our Wendy’s experience stand out that much more that the person closing that evening went the extra mile. Fresh fries, fresh chicken - highly recommend if you roll through White House...
Read moreStopped here en route to another state. Toilet paper dispenser was jammed in the handicap stall and would not dispense paper so I had to move to another stall, then neither one of the soap dispensers would dispense soap even though they were full. I very kindly told the people at the counter about the problems in the bathroom, thinking they would fix them, and no one even commented on the toilet paper situation but disagreed with me and said that soap dispensers did indeed work, that I just had to hold my hand under it. At that point another customer said "No, I couldn't get soap out of the dispensers either," but the lady behind the counter insisted that we were just using them wrong and that we had to hold our hand under the dispenser. At this point I decided to get food elsewhere and returned to the car, but my husband stayed to order a salad. Ten minutes later I was still sitting in the car and waiting for him to come out with his salad -- it took that long for...
