STOPPED IN FEB 20 DURING SNOW TO GIVE THE STORE ANOTHER SHOT TO GET THINGS RIGHT. ONLY ORDERED A QUARTER-POUNDER W CHEESE ANS A LARGE FRY. ORDER WAS PERFECT! Thank you for getting it right! š
Joe, I have been a regular dine-in and carry-out guest of the former 2752 MacArthur Road location, which has now relocated to the 2998 MacArthur Road. I empathized greatly with your struggles with the construction of the new location. I was very happy when you finally opened the doors and was even there last week when the ribbon was cut in the store. Unfortunately, my experience in the new store is not favorable and borders on pushing me to eat elsewhere.
I have now been to the store 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Not one of the 4 visits was even par, let alone good. The quality of the food, temperature and assembly issues, were the highlights of the negative aspects. In all visits, some food was thrown away completely. To feel the issue was so bad that the item was not consumed at all, is something I have never experienced at the former location.
2 of the visits were breakfast drive-thru visits. One was just before 7am, the second just after 8:30am. The first of these I ordered a sausage McMuffin with egg meal, orange juice, and extra hash brown. When I arrived home, about 5 minutes later, I unwrap the sandwich to find it is prepared upside down. Now, I understand this is something that is minor. Try eating one upside down...it does taste differently, and not for the better, IMHO. I tried simply turning it upside down, but the muffin base was so well-done, causing it to break with a sharp edge on the roof of my mouth. This is simply a quality control issue, and did not cause me to discard the product. The hash browns were both saturated in fryer oil, very lightly done on the outside and nearly RAW on the inside. Both were so lightly done that they could be rolled up, like fruit roll ups, without breaking. The second drive-thru visit's order was another number 2, orange juice, hotcakes, 3 syrups, and an extra hash brown. This order had a repeat of the above hash brown issue, and both the top and bottom of the sausage McMuffin were burnt black around the edges. I cut the burnt rims of the muffin off, but the burnt flavor was still overwhelming in the remainder of the sandwich. I ultimately had to throw it away completely. In both drive-thru orders I threw away the hash-browns without eating them. I only received 1 syrup when I ordered 3. Luckily I checked the bag before leaving the lot, but I had to park and walk in to get the issue corrected.
The other 2 visits were take-out orders between the hours of 12:30pm and 2:00pm. The first order was a Quarter Pounder with cheese meal. The sandwich was so 'fresh' that the grease had not been patted off of it, causing it to actually slip out from between the buns and fall on my lap, bringing with it ketchup and mustard stains to my pants. In both take-out orders, the French fries were under cooked to the point they were still cool in the center. Properly cooked fries should snap into 2 clean pieces when bent. In both orders the fries wouldn't even stay straight when held by one end...they just drooped over. In both orders, I threw the fries away. Like many others, to me the fries are the highlight of the order. The second take-out order was a cheeseburger and large French fry. There was nearly a quarter of a cup of ketchup on the cheeseburger. The bun top was so thoroughly soaked in ketchup, it was inedible.
It saddens me to feel the need to bring these issues to your attention. I have pictures of most of the issues, should you want them. In 4 visits to the new location I only recognized 1 staff member, the rest were new to me. Could the issue be new trainees in need of quality control training? I hope so. Something needs to change though or I will need to eat elsewhere. I hope you take this review in the manner in which it is intended...an honest constructive criticism. I hope to be a happy guest again in the near...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Manager made my day !!! I'm destined to go to McDonald's regularly in my life; I have an 11 year old!! I enjoy the experience as much as being in the dentist's chair!! (Reminds me of a city subway station or like being a half-back dodging one here and getting past one there). On October 1st, the family (wife and son) chose McDonald's for a Sunday lunch. I did the usual 32 'excuse me's' and after passing through the matrix, I arrived at the spot from which I hear those words that my son loves to hear more than me: "Welcome to McDonald's!!!" The woman behind the counter was an older woman; by shirt color, I knew she was the Manager. My order was quite big and intricate because I was using a coupon. I wish I could've gotten her name because she was the BEST counter help I've encountered at a fast food place in some time. She didn't miss a beat, clarified my order, entered the coupon, and got everything right !!!! (Too often at McDonald's, something is missing, a discount isn't applied, newbies are a constant, I gotta go back to the counter with my receipt.......) But this time the transaction was so smooth, I almost started singing opera! Also at this location, kiosks have been installed so if you don't need to use a coupon and you have a credit card, you can put your own order together and then take a number and they will deliver to your table!!! While eating, I seen that Manager also emptying the trash cans and clearing areas where people tossed trash outside the trash can. (I'm sure finding good help nowadays is like having a dream come true. She did a GREAT job monitoring all aspects of this restaurant). The Manager made my experience enjoyable; it was better than a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI use to go to this McDonald's when I was a kid 40 yrs ago. and as an adult since. I haven't been there since the dropping of the building and to redo the store to a modern atmosphere . It was over 50 yr history remodeled but this takes it to another level. Bigger kitchen, less distance to the restrooms. You know that is important!!š¤£š¤£Those hallways always seemed so long to get to them there was always the need to get there quick ššš the modern dinning room, playland, and the most modern dinning experience is the one can self order, pay, and get a number like my customers use to have at the restaurant i had worked at. It's a low tech way to get served to table even after 30yrs. It's still very efficientššš Take number stand to table POOF! now Micky D's is now table service. I LOVE IT!!! I and my friends work in Whitehall we would AFTER work go to McDonald's and we called it Micky D's run. To bad we couldn't patent that we would have been rich or famous. Ironically that we called it back in the day before it be came a thing now people do it now adays! Oh as for yes my food....the fish sandwich was delicious and the triple burger was outstanding since last burger I got 30 yrs ago really sucked. It had red in, i did take it back that was gross even for that day. that was before cooking no a days everything med well or well done. Ironic it was that McDonald's that it happened. As you see that's why. Store clean organized Employees friendly and helpful to the fact it was nice young lady that assistant to make my order using the self serve. She was quite knowledgeable and patient. That was very nice for the new...
