If there was ever a reason to dine at the lovely purpose-driven restaurant beside their food, it would be the customer service, particularly the young lady I dealt with recently. I walked into Mission BBQ on a whim two evenings ago, and since I was a noticeable first-timer, I was naturally hesitant ordering my food, fearful I’d order the wrong thing and leave unsatisfied and 20 bucks poorer. This, fortunately, was not the case. An energetic, down-to-earth, woman I must say, assisted me with the menu. There were a few folks in line but she didn’t rush through her cashier duties. She also, somehow, didn’t alienate the people waiting, summoning assistance from a co-worker so I wouldn’t feel rushed. Honest to God, this woman treated my tastebuds as if they were her own. I just knew I made the right decision at that point and was clearly in good hands, although I didn’t know her or the restaurant from a can of paint.
Anyway, we went through the menu, chapter and verse, and landed on some good options. I explained my dietary restrictions and she responded back quickly with the necessary do’s-and-don’t’s. I mean she super knowledgeable of the menu and didn’t miss a beat. I was, and still am actually, thoroughly impressed with the service I received this particular day. My family and I devoured our food, and now this restaurant will likely become a go-to place of ours. The salmon did my stomach right and the sides were fantastic. My meal was punctuated with the cornbread, which I’m pretty sure the nice woman slid me an additional slice. All in all, I wouldn’t trade my experience at Mission BBQ in Whitehall for anything I can think of (food-wise). The grub was excellent, but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit the service that night wasn’t equally, if not more, memorable. If feels good to be treated with such grace, and not just another patrons who comes through the door right before the place closes! I appreciate the food & service extended me and pray the woman, Ques who helped me tremendously, is recognized for her above and beyond efforts and positive energy. She’s such a dope spirit and blessed my family and I with everything we could ask for. Thank you Mission BBQ, who appear to be extremely philanthropic with their time and profit, and a special thank you to Ques! I shall...
Read moreI have eaten at the restaurant numerous times with my serviced dog training group. However this review is based on the catering event they were used for. I was not the bride for this catering event but a bridesmaid, I have years of experience in the wedding industry and was leaned on for advice on who to cater as well as a secondary contact to be used the day of the event. Mission was the first place I thought of when she said they wanted to go the BBQ route for there wedding and I could not have been happier I recommended you guys. Pat showed up the 24 hours before the event to take a look at the space and go over the timeline and answer questions. The next day Donna and Donna were there for set up prior to the ceremony beginning and they went above and beyond with what was expected of them. It was a backyard wedding with minimal staff, they helped the guys in charge of moving ceremony chairs to the tables like it was part of what was expected of them I was thoroughly impressed with such a small thing that most people didn't know or notice I'm sure. Pat showed up on time and all of the food was delicious. They wrapped all the food up and even smaller dishes for the bride and groom for later that night. They went over with me and the day of coordinator what would freeze well and what would not. The experience with Pat Donna and Donna could not have...
Read moreOWNER AND CUSTOMERS READ THIS: I would give it 5 stars but im not sure if what I was told is true or not. I ordered online and paid online. I drove there and went to the sign that says PICK UP ONLINE ORDER HERE. I stood there in front of my order and waited. I was ignored for a few minutes, so I kept making eye contact with my phone out. A girl finally asked me if I needed help, and I told her I was here for my online order. She said I was supposed to wait at the register and check in first. I explained that I waited by the sign that advised me to pick the order up there, and my order is sitting there. She said that the sign is there more so to tell people where to go after they go to the register. That doesnt make sense to me, and no other place does this. The food is there, you go in to the PICK UP area, get it, and leave with no problem. This makes it easier for both the customers and the business. The reason this bothered me enough to write about it, is I in fact ordered online from here before, and picked it up without going to the register. That is the reason I went to the pick up area to begin with this time. I need an answer on what the online ordering process is? Please post the answer. I like the food and love what this place represents. Im hoping this was just some minor confusion by the staff on what to do for...
