I give pudges an overall score of four for a couple of reasons. No, this is a story review for a simple food /wick food establishment. It seems to be a local institutional experience to have a Pudge's chicken or steak cheese steak. This was my first experience at Pudges. You do have to walk to the back of the establishment to place your order and then take a seat. As for the ambiance, I give them credit for including whole rolls of paper towel on each table along with salt, pepper and ketchup. As you enter the place, there's nothing but bear tables. You go to the back of the shop to place your order. If you order a drink they hand you a cup. No issue with that. However, their drink dispense machine was the dirtiest I have ever seen. They need to clean around every fountain dispenser for each brand as well as the drip tray everything falls into. This have could have been an oversight for the week. I wouldn't hold it against them. Just look before you use It's an easy fix for them. As for the food, Pudges name is certainly a reflection on the size of the food they serve!. I give them high marks on the quality of the food for a cheesesteak or chicken's, cheesesteak, etc. The Staff will bring the food out to your table if you give them your name when you order. I would recommend making sure that you tip them in advance, especially since it is a nice bonus that this type of establishment will bring food to your table. There are lots of posters on the wall that boasts the best of..... Which is nice to see. I've heard a lot about Pudges over recent years and I finally had the opportunity to experience a Pudge's chicken cheesesteak. It's not like any other I've ever had, without a doubt. I would recommend, if you want to try a really cool institutional cheesesteak this would be...
Read moreCustomer disservice. Despite making a tasty cheesesteak the blue bell location is clueless when it comes to customer service. I ordered a cheesesteak for take out during a weekday afternoon when there were only two or three other customers in the shop. They were out of bottled water. Because my wife doesn’t like fried onions and we were splitting the sandwich I asked for them to be put on the side. They upcharged me for this! I could understand if I wanted additional onions but not merely to place them in a plastic cup so that I could add them as I saw fit. The coup de gras occurred when my cheesesteak was done. Rather than just bring my steak 20’ to where I was seated waiting, my name was called out at the counter. At the counter the clerk was ringing someone up so he asked the waiter to give “Mark” his cheesesteak. Three other patrons at most. Place has gotten way too big for its britches. Good cheesesteaks but not good enough to tolerate being treated so impersonally. Towamencin Pudge’s has fantastic customer service! Though I live very close to this location it’ll be towamencin for me...
Read moreSo if you’re jonesing for a good cheesesteak and fries you need to eat here. We ordered the bacon cheese fries, boy did they arrive fairly quick which made me skeptical about its taste and crispiness. Boy was I wrong! They were piping hot covered in that cheesy goodness. I loved how they retained the crispy outside and the melt in your mouth tenderness inside. We did need to add a dash of salt but I actually preferred that. Next came our steak sammies yes I said sammies but don’t let that fool you it’s just my own personal terminology. The cheesesteaks were also piping hot. Loved that! Even made a comment about them needing to make pasta because I love my pasta piping hot! The sammie was filled to the brim with steak cheese and shrooms for us and yes it was delicious. It’s so full that it came with a fork! So bottom line is if you don’t live close to the city but want a good cheesesteak here’s your go to. We drove from Bucks so it was a much easier and closer drive than an hr trip to...
