So disappointed in the service we received tonight. The girl who took our order in the drive thru was kind but I canât say the same for the girl who made and handed us our drinks. We ordered 4 cinnamon roll coffees, one decaf, one iced, all medium, a medium cocoa, and a medium hot blondie. We got to the window and the girl gave us all but one hot cinnamon roll, when we told her we were missing a drink she very quickly dismissed us and said âno I gave them all to you.â When we told her which one we were missing and that we ordered six she told us we only ordered five quite rudely. I know how many people are in my car and that we all ordered drinks as each of us gave the girl in the drive thru our order. She continued to be rude and told us âwell you only ordered five, if you want another you have to pay for itâ I had no problem with paying and wouldâve gladly and was planning on paying if the drink had actually been missed but she wasnât interested in solving the issue and only wanted to argue. I told her âI ordered 6 but Iâd be happy to pay for the one weâre missingâ she gave me a nasty look so we said never mind and left. I run a coffee shop and have worked in the service industry for years, if an order is messed up you can handle it in a way that is kind and polite without being condescending and rude. If any of my employees spoke to a guest or handled a situation the way she did I wouldâve written them up. Hereâs some ways it couldâve been handled rather than arguing with a customer on the number of drinks ordered and refusing to fix the issue- âIâm sorry it seems that one was missed on the order, Iâll go ahead and get that for you but we do have to get the payment for that one since it wasnât included.â âOh we mustâve missed that one, let me get that for you.â âOh let me fix that! It doesnât show 6 were ordered but that couldâve been our bad, let me ring you up for itâ What is the point of repeating âno it was 5â to a customer that is just trying to figure out how to get the missed drink? Weâve liked 7-Brew for the consistency and attention to detail, but in the last couple weeks almost every time weâve come to this location there have been employees just standing around, nobody seems to want to take your order (or understand that theyâre supposed to), and it feels like they will charge for extra and intentionally not give you what youâve asked and paid for. Today we waited about ten minutes for two small blondies with EXTRA caramel drizzle and cold foam, and when we got our drinks we had to have them remade because they were mediums and had absolutely no caramel. When the smalls came out it was like⌠a WHISPER of caramel and watery cold foam. Half the time itâs perfect, beautiful, awesome, itâs the reason we keep coming back. But there have been more times than not lately where the service and drinks just arenât what they should be and itâs disheartening and frustrating, on top of there being way too many people just standing around and talking and ignoring you until you begin to look visibly annoyed. First off, their coffee is to die for - it must be the beans because it is through the roof! The lattes are some of the best Iâve had; rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, they set a new standard for what a latte should be.
What really makes 7 Brew stand out, though, is the service. Everyone there was cheerful, happy, and genuinely glad to help. There's clearly a positive culture in this organization, as it radiates through each employee. This morning, despite the frigid 29 degree cold front, Kalie took our order with such cheerful, over-the-top energy. She mentioned she was keeping warm with four layers but still managed to make us feel welcome with her bright, smiling eyes and enthusiastic greeting. Ask for Halie!
