I love Thai food but this place is somewhere I will never return. I called in my order, was given a pick up estimate in minutes. I arrived around 5 minutes past the estimated time and the lady told me my order wasn't there & I must had called a different one. I told her this was the only Thai place to come up here locally on Google & it was you I ordered with. After a few minutes of this same conversation she walks away and returned with the business phone. She proceeded to say I didn't call as she scrolled the call log. I pulled out my cell phone to show her it was her number. She then found my number on the log and asked what did you order? I told her my order and she then said she remembers, walks back to the kitchen and yells out the order to the cooks. She returned to me and said they were boxing it up now. I sat there for almost 15 minutes knowing the meals were just now being cooked. When I finally received my food she said sorry about that have a good day. I went to the car, checked my food and my meal was made regular versus spicy as I requested. I returned inside and told her that the meal was supposed to be spicy, I said spicy, she replies yes it is. I opened the container and she looked at it, this meal with not one red spec of spicy seasoning & still said it was spicy, after repeating AGAIN no that's not spicy she said sorry they will fix it & carried the box back and opened it as if she was going to just pour the seasoning on it. I had to tell the lady do not just add it on the top I want it cooked in like its supposed to be. She said OK, threw the box in the trash then yelled at the cooks the order and it was supposed to be spicy. I waited about 7 minutes and she returned with the food re-made. She said sorry about that have a good day. Horrible service from start to finish, and to top it all off the food was very mediocre, definitely not good just simply decent and not good. We ended up not eating much of the food &...
Read moreHonestly, my favorite restaurant of all time. The owner, Gip is very sweet and have been eating here for over a decade. I wanna say since 2005. I've had a lot of their dishes, but my all time favorites are the Hawaiian Pineapple Curry, I add bamboo and cashews to mine. 10/10. I love her fried wantons. Another appetizer they have is Kai Satay, fried chicken skewers dipped in DELiCIoUS, sweet peanut butter sauce called Satay, homemade. There isn't a lot of meat in them but they are homemade and crispy and perfect, love them with soy sauce. Sweet and sour chicken is the best I've had from any Asian restaurant. The fried chicken pieces are delicious and the sweet and sour dipping sauce is homemade, unlike the usual darker, thick so sweet and sour, this is light, fragrant and thinner. It is hands down 10/10. The Pad Thai is also 10/10. Broccoli beef is high quality and superior to Chinese Buffett broccoli beef, 10/10. Ham and Pineapple Fried Rice, has diced tomatoes which is a great touch, I add cashews to mine and it is delicious, especially with that spicy red sauce in the bottle. It's super cheap too, like 7 bucks for a large portion, so if you're on a budget it's a great choice. 10/10. If you want it super spicy, please tell your server, since the spice level on the dishes are lower, to suit a pallet to that is less accustomed to spice. Another amazing aspect is that the owner, Gip, has kept the prices low even as prices...
Read moreThai Orchid is a friendly restaurant that I stopped here once before with my daughter, and I remembered how good the food is. So when approaching Wichita Falls today en route to my final destination, I searched for it, happening to arrive shortly after their 5pm opening hour.
I was surprised (as I was the first time) at how un-busy it was, especially given the food quality. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu and vegetables. When my server asked about spice, I replied with one word: “Medium.”
Sweet Mother of Jesus, that was HOT! I was sweating, but loving every minute of it. I had to ask for a glass of water to try to put out the fire, to no avail. My tongue was smoking for a good 30 minutes afterward. If you are averse to heat, maybe say “Mild” or “None.”
I was especially touched by all the employees wishing me—again, the only customer—a Merry Christmas as I exited. That was really nice. I will remember, and shall return next time...
