Was excited to try this place after it was delayed for a few months. Quite disappointed, my other friends that tried it had neutral or negative comments about it but i wanted to try it out for myself so we ordered a variety of things typically anyone else would. We ordered Appetizers: - gyoza - edamame - calamari Sushi Rolls: - LSU Roll - Witchita Falls Roll Entrees: - Steak and Shrimp (comes with side of miso soup, fried rice) Drinks: - Hot tea First off presentation and everything was good looked amazing but the taste and temperature of things threw off the rest of the experience The hottea they gave us in nice teapot, the water wasnt steaming hot, it was really luke warm and the tea barely steeped. Appetizers came out and the edamame was nice and warm and salted well cant say much about it its edamame, it was good. The gyoza's were also pretty good maybe would need alittle more frying time because by the time it got to us it was almost soggy or mushy but the flavor was good. The Calamari was alright as well but it was alittle over cooked rubbery and chewy, flavor and crunch was alright but it was just overcooked, it also had a small after taste like eating a cheese stick could be the batter/crust they used. Entrees came next. My miso soup was blazing hot temperature wise which was good wish my tea was the same temperature. Ginger Salad was also good. Bowl of fried rice was pretty good as well. The main portion was the steak, shrimp and vegetables. First they didnt ask how i liked my steak and it came out overdone, seasoned well but overdone. The shrimps were pretty bad to say, tasted frozen and weird after taste, too overcooked, really chewy and rubbery didnt finish them. The hibachi vegetables were good. The Sushi Rolls are hit and miss the LSU Roll tasted abit off but the witchita falls roll was good so its hit or miss Overall disappointed but for the area i guess it is what it is. Looks good but taste didnt go overall well.

Gave it 4. Big selection. I chose the Crazy Yellowtail. That was awesome. My wife had a few, including sweet potato, she liked. She ask for a 'special' roll of takuan (pickled Japanese radish) and cucumber. That was $1 extra for 'special'. She usually gets when we go to sushi, but she said it was salty and she did not like. My issue was the server expected we understood their process. Apparently they expect folks to select all you can eat. They seat you at the table, with a menu and an order check list per person. They don't say anything. Then they come to take your order. Apparently the check list is for all you can eat. I have never been to all you can eat before. Usually we get one check list for the table and we share what we order. I had my check list on the lunch side. I guess I should know their process. There is a lot of information on a two sided check list and a large menu book. Once she said, just so you know we are on the dinner side, then I understood. Suggestion. Assume we do not understand your system. Great us and ask, 'Have you been to Volcano before or is this your first visit?' Oh first visit, let me explain how we do things. You can order from the menu or you can have all you can eat, which is what that check list is for. We have a lunch side and a dinner side. We offer a check list per person, for you convenience.

The service was great. It was a little slow getting the sushi rolls out but as they are made to order it isn't really a complaint so much as a note of information. The gyoza were crunchy on the outside and tasty on the inside, and definitely one of my favorite non-sushi items. The calamari was pretty good. It had a nice texture and good taste by itself. The dipping sauce had a unique taste that I did not enjoy so I didn't use it after the first one. The avocado salad was tasty as well, and we ended up using the ginger dressing to dip the yakitori in which was amazing. The only roll that I would not order again is the Naruto Rolls. I enjoyed the first couple pieces but the more I had the less I liked it. My other rolls had not arrived yet so maybe alternating would have been better vs having all 8 of them in a row. The double crunchy, baby tiger, and I-10 rolls were my favorites; very refreshing and I enjoy those with crunchy texture. The desserts were all good. The ice cream was on the icy (vs creamy) side which some in our party prefer while other don't. The fried oreos were a little contradictory for me but my partner like them a lot. The fried cheesecake uses tempura batter which was very good, while the regular cheesecake was very creamy and my clear favorite.

I really wanted to leave a good review. But I've no choice because of the awkwardly bad service I have received when I went in during the week day for lunch, was horrible and the quality of the food was horrible as well which left made me very upset and disappointed. I wonder if the quality of the food was low because it is cheaper during lunch, so it made me think that they might be serving food that is cheaper, thus the terrible quality. None of the sushi was fresh, my favorite which is sake, salmon, was way below average. Spicy tuna and salmon rolls are terribly and lazily made. To top it off, going back to the service. I didn't get the waitress's name but she looked Indian. She was weirdly very condescending in her tone even though she presents a very nice and kind impression. She asked if my kids are going to be charged for all you can eat by asking how much they eat. Thought that was really odd because usually they go by age, I didn't know what to answer so I just replied I think they eat pretty average amounts...? 3 and 2 year old... she thinks for a minute and tells me that she will do me a favor and not charge for them and only us 2 since toddlers dont eat much in her opinion...ok??? She missed orders, always get the number of orders wrong, can't understand me, have to repeat myself numerous amount of times, asked to refill my sprite but she waited over 10 minutes and I asked her for about it and she said it was because I was still drinking from my cuo which she needed to refill it so they don't have to use extra cups unnecessarily... she comes over later and comments that she thinks my babies eat way more than the typical toddler... making me feel awkward and uncomfortable. Idk...I know I ended up writing so much but I just can't explain in words of my experience with that waitress.. she was definitely new at this job. Also, idk if this is normal but I asked her to take away some finished plates but she leaves and comes back 5 minutes later telling the Hispanic lady who cleans up tables to clean it because she will not clean up tables for some reason...like she didnt want to get her hands dirty and the other lady just looked annoyed. Again, this is just my opinion. TLDR: Very very disappointing. Service is bad and quality of food...

DO NOT GET THE KATSU! IT IS NOT CHICKEN KATSU YOU'LL BE GETTING. You go here for the sushi. The sushi is good, at least the ones we tried. Next time we'll just come here for sushi and nothing else. I made the mistake of ordering chicken katsu. That has always been a safe order anywhere else. Here... It was something else. What I got was a pre-cooked chicken then battered lightly with flour and fried probably 2 mins because what arrived at my table was the color of white bread. The coating wouldn't even stay on the chicken that tasted like it was boiled or something. I looked at the server puzzled since the chicken came just by itself. It should come with rice. The picture even showed it over rice. Thrn came the most unforgivable part of this. I asked where the tonkatsu sauce was and they replied with "it doesn't come with sauce." I'm so bewildered at this point and thought it was some sort of prank. Not only did the chicken "katsu" not look, taste or prepared like katsu but it didn't come with the tonkatsu sauce. Thats like ordering a hot fudge sundae and you get just plain ice cream and you're told that it doesn't come with anything else or getting a chilli dog and all you get is a hotdog with no bun or any chilli. They claim no one has ever asked for sauce for it let alone tonkatsu sauce! 🤯 What? It was even on the picture on the menu, katsu served over rice WITH sauce. I asked what I could get with it cause it was not something I could eat without something. It was tasteless. I had a choice between mustard and sweet chili sauce. I opted for the latter. They need to just rename this from "katsu" to Thai fried chicken, that way they could serve it like that using the sweet chili sauce as drizzle. I'm just dumbfounded. I'm just glad we got some sushi else this will be a 1 star rating. It gave me, at least, a funny, bewildering story to tell. I really wish I took a picture. I was just so shocked, confused and disappointed that I didn't even...

Was excited to try this place after it was delayed for a few months.

Quite disappointed, my other friends that tried it had neutral or negative comments about it but i wanted to try it out for myself so we ordered a variety of things typically anyone else would.

We ordered

Appetizers: gyoza edamame calamari

Sushi Rolls: LSU Roll Witchita Falls Roll

Entrees: Steak and Shrimp (comes with side of miso soup, fried rice)

Drinks: Hot tea

First off presentation and everything was good looked amazing but the taste and temperature of things threw off the rest of the experience

The hottea they gave us in nice teapot, the water wasnt steaming hot, it was really luke warm and the tea barely steeped.

The Sushi Rolls are hit and miss the LSU Roll tasted abit off but the witchita falls roll was good so its hit or miss

Overall disappointed but for the area i guess it is what it is.

Looks good but taste didnt go...
