⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re a fan of bold flavors and generous portions, run to La Perla Tapatia. Their ceviche mix (I get mine without tomatoes) is hands-down some of the best I’ve had—super fresh with both fish and shrimp, perfectly seasoned every time.

Now let me warn you about the Molcajete Ranchero… It’s massive. Pretty sure it’s meant to feed a family, but every time I order it, I take it as a personal challenge. I’ve never finished it in one sitting—but it always comes home with me and tastes just as good the next day. 🔥

And if you love spice like I do, ask for their homemade hot sauces. The salsa aguacate and salsa habanero are both delicious—just know that the habanero is not for the faint of heart. They also have a smoky salsa with chili flakes that they keep in the back—ask for the salsa picante. You won’t regret it (unless you can’t handle heat 😅).

Had lunch today at La Perla Tapatia on Maplewood for the first time today. I ordered Carne Guisada, one of my lunchtime Mexican favorites, and much to my surprise, their Guisada was simply too hot for me to eat. Now I like and eat any and all varieties of spicy, but this actually took my breath away and made my eyes water. I took multliple bites thinking maybe I had just gotten an isolated hot first bite, but my mouth was still on fire several minutes later.
