My husband, young daughter and I had dinner at McAlister's this evening. It was the first time we had eaten there in a long time and when our food came I questioned to myself why we had chosen it tonight. Honestly, I found a post online that showed kids meals for .99 on Thursdays. This helped us make up our minds to begin with. Upon our arrival around 6pm the restaurant was not very busy. My husband and I decided on the pick 2 for $7.49. We each ordered the half sandwich and half spud max which from what I understand, added $1.00 more to each of our orders for the "max". We both had tea. I then asked about the .99 kids meal. The lady at the counter said she was not familiar with any discount on the kids meals. We went ahead and continued with our order anyway. Our total was just over $25. The food arrived very quickly and was very hot. My daughter loved her cheese french bread pizza with fresh fruit. Mine and my husband's half sandwich was very small. The size of a small fist. The spud was decent sized with a small amout of toppings, 1 packet of butter and sour cream on the side. My husband immediately found a small curly hair in the middle of his plate which wasn't one of his! We sent it back. The re-made plate was hair free and he ate it. Both potatoes were overbaked but we ate them anyway at that point. One additional note: I have not confirmed this with the owners but I did have a niece that worked there recently and she informed me that the servers are not allowed to keep their tips. They turn all of them in to management. We asked one of our servers today and she agreed stating that all of their tips get turned in to be donated to charity. When I donate to charity I want to choose which one my money goes to so, we DID NOT leave a tip. It will be a while before we go back. The best part about the visit was the service. The employees are very friendly...
Read moreThe man who took my order over the phone was rude a d didn't even tell me how long til it would be ready for pick up and he flat hung up on me without another word I thought maybe ot was busy. When I went I. To pick up it was NOT busy so that excuse couldn't be the issue. My mom has "issues and I was with her when I called in order. She was loud in background so I didn't hear his inital question so he had to repeat it. He was simply rude and apparently had no reason. Esp not when he could hear her in the background which said I obviously had something going on on my end. He had ni personality when I encountered him in the store either He seemed like he was probably rude or aloof more often than not. The lady I saw was in fact friendly and personable. The little man with the attitude should maybe not take calls or run a register. The only smile I saw from him was to another male coworker. And a male customer that required about 10 min of time to sample a vinegrette. Which is fine but don't stop the ONE line for that. He may needs to learn to multitask on another level. Sorry I'm not usually rude but he got me fired up about 3-4 days ago. Well, it’s been a month and I went back. We are temporarily without a vehicle so I have to get a ride up to this location. I went inside to order and the one lady working the counter had quite a line and did quite great. Unfortunately as seems to be the case I get my order all bagged and ready so I leave. Only to discover at the house I’ve paid for something I did not receive and the only way to get it is to walk there. I am so very tired of the disappointment in customer service. Not just here but most everywhere I go. Tighten up McAlister’s y’all have lost some customers.oh I read Cinthia’s review after mine and there are no hair nets that I have seen. And her review got an owners response, go...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at McAllister Restaurant, and the experience was delightful from start to finish. The ambiance of the restaurant is cozy and inviting, with a rustic charm that immediately makes you feel at home. The decor is tasteful, and the soft lighting adds a touch of elegance to the dining experience. One of the standout aspects of my visit was the exceptional service provided by Amanda, our server for the evening. From the moment we were seated, Amanda greeted us with a warm smile and made sure we felt comfortable. She was attentive without being intrusive and displayed an impressive knowledge of the menu, recommending dishes based on our preferences. Amanda’s professionalism and friendly demeanor enhanced our dining experience significantly. She ensured our glasses were never empty and was quick to respond to any requests we had. Her passion for her work was evident, and it contributed to the overall positive atmosphere of the restaurant. The food at McAllister was equally impressive. We ordered the house special steak, which was cooked perfectly to our liking, and the seasonal vegetable risotto, which was flavorful and creamy. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the presentation of each dish was impeccable. Overall, my experience at McAllister Restaurant was outstanding, and Amanda’s remarkable service played a key role in that. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience with...
