Cotton Patch Cafe — Restaurant in Wichita Falls

Updated review. The waitress didn't tell me I had a choice of sides. I overheard her telling the next table that ordered the same size about choice of sides. My husband didn't eat his green beans. He said they were barely warm. My main complaint with Cotton Patch is the consistency of luke warm sides. Please wait to put the sides on the plate right when main dish is ready.

Food was delicious; we had chicken fries steak. The waitress was very attentive. Very good, and it was their 30-year anniversary

Update: My husband and I went yesterday. The waitress was very nice and helpful. We both ordered the grilled shrimp off of the two for 22$ menu. The shrimp was delicious nice size My sides were mashed potatoes and okra. The potatoes were slightly warm but not hot. The okra was seasoned well and just barely warm, too. The shrimp comes on a bed of rice; it was gummy, you could tell it had been sitting for a while. We did come around 3:30 pm and probably won't do that again. I did eat half of my vegetables. My husband's sides were green beans and fries. He said the beans were good, and the fries were barely warm The waitress and the shrimp will get us to come back. Whoa Cotton Patch! What happened? This is usually my go-to restaurant, but tonight was certainly not up to par. I went to use a 20% off e-mail coupon and was planning on having a nice ribeye, but they have removed the ribeye from the menu. So, I opted for the pork chop, but they were out, so I decided on the Cajun Duo but they were out of it too! Guys, it’s Sunday night at 5:30. You are about to be really busy and your out of two major entrees - go figure. I ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer while I pondered the menu. I settled for the filet and it was well cooked but it didn’t have much flavor and really just wasn’t what I had my mouth set on. Also, during the entire meal my waitress seemed in a rush when she was at the table. It wasn’t that busy and they appeared to have ample staff, but for some reason I felt hurried, which negatively added to the overall experience. Also, I asked for additional gravy for the mushrooms two different times but never saw it. As I was paying my bill, I heard a child order Dr Pepper to drink and the waitress explaining that they were out of Dr Pepper, go figure! The manager did give me a BOGO coupon as I left, but pretty sure it will be a while before...

My husband and I have gone to Cotton Patch to many times to count over the years an have always enjoyed the food. Tonight I ordered the Beef Tips over garlic mashed potatoes and my husband had the fried fish. My meal was so full of black pepper all throughout that’s all I could taste. The waitress came over and I told her I couldn’t eat it. She asked if I wanted something different and my husband said he would share his dinner with me. She promptly stated she would take it off of our bill. Then later came back an stated that I could have a free dessert. We got the peach cobbler and it was awesome. But never once did the manager come by the table to speak to us. We received our bill and the Beef-tips were still on there. I questioned her and she stated he wouldn’t let me remove it that’s why you got the free dessert. I was appalled by this. She kept apologizing and we told her it wasn’t her fault. And it wasn’t. He/she should have come over to the table and spoke to us. I told her to let the manager know that my husband was a veteran and we would let everyone we know how I was treated.
