Big disappointment.
Cold Stones are usually pretty consistent and have great ice cream and great ice cream cakes. But-- I was pretty disappointed with a cake I recently got.
I called ahead and asked about the cakes, there was a cookie dough one already made that she said she would set aside for me. Then I gave her the writing that I wanted on the cake. She said it would be ready for pick-up and time the next day after noon.
So I arrive at 12:30, and tell the girl at the counter (I'm assuming not the one I spoke with on the phone) and told her I had ordered a cake. Blank stare. After a pause, she starts to apologize and says the person who writes on the cakes won't be in until tomorrow, so I can come back then... kthanksbye!
Then this: Me-- well, I still need the cake today. Her-- but... she won't be here until tomorrow. (long pause) Me-- then I guess I'll take it blank. Her-- (as if it had never occurred to her) Oh. Ok. Me-- So, do I get any discount for the writing not being done how I ordered/ by the time I was told it would be...? Her-- No.
So that's the story of how I wasted my time calling ahead to order a cake, and wound up paying $47 for a blank cake. Thanks, Coldstone. Crappy customer service...
Read moreMy husband and I were on vacation in Wichita this week, we haven't had Cold Stone in ages (due to a relocation) and were so excited to visit! First of all, it was extremely hard to find as the outside sign was not turned on at 8pm (the giant Cold Stone sign on the building). We got ours to go and brought it home to eat later that night. My husband began eating his peanut butter cookie dough creation and much to our surprise, he turns to me and says, "well, that's gross..." and pulls out a giant long black hair that was mixed into his ice cream. The girl who made it, did in fact have long black hair (neither of us have black hair so it was pretty obvious who it came from.) He ended up throwing it away since he could not bring himself to continue eating it (huge waste of money.) We took pictures and planned on calling the store the next day, however, after reading the other reviews for this particular location, we just decided it wasn't even worth it seeing how other incidents had been handled (aka not handled whatsoever). Disgusting. It's really not that hard to be sanitary while preparing food, please be more mindful. Glad she was wearing a mask to avoid the COVID exposure, so instead we get the human hair...
Read moreIn all honesty this was the worst experience we had going to cold stone. We have been buying ice cream and cakes for many years in many different locations throughout the US and yet, we have never encounter, a more mediocre ice cream, that tasted very fatty/buttery, and the waffle cones that were stale and soggy. The location was very unkept. It made me uncomfortable to be eating there. It made new wonder how the prep area may be kept. The staff was young and courteous but perhaps, a little reminder of what customer service should be may be needed. Gloves must be change in between customers, if you handle money, do not handle food please. Do not sit on the counters. I am telling you because I value the quality of your product and it bothers me to think it has deteriorated to this low level. Thanks for the opportunity to...
