DO NOT GO HERE I went with my family once for their lunch time buffet and it was a so-so experience. Most of us did the buffet but one of our family members waited on a menu item they ordered for so long everyone else had finished eating their food from the buffet. The food was okay, but we found out they offered a lunch time to-go buffet and my uncle was able to go in and stuff a to-go box with kabobs at a similar price to the lunch buffet. I went at 1:30 one day and they told us we couldn’t do the buffet until it was 2:00 pm. When we came back at 2, we paid $24.71 per person (way more than the lunch buffet price) for a total scam! There was no food left (like literally no kabobs at all and very minimal amounts of other items) and we requested that they make more kabobs. While we waited there was a huge commotion in the kitchen where the chef was approaching the male waiter / manager (idk what he is) and we could hear them complaining about having to make more food (as if that’s a ridiculous request at a restaurant). They continued to go back and forth with the chefs in the back continuously making eye contact at us and making faces while they were clearly upset about having to make more kababs (wow, it’s almost like that’s the name of the restaurant??). The female waitress was very nice and apologetic about it all while the chefs and male waiter did little to nothing. They brought out the food in small amounts and gestured every time they brought it until we eventually left as we had waited close to an hour while being ridiculed and barely filled our to-go boxes. We asked when a good time to come in would be and they had said to come in on a weekday at 2. On friday at 1:30 I called to confirm that the buffet was open at 2 and that their was kabobs made as we would be coming and the male waiter said that they didn’t open until 2:30 for the to go buffet but they would have kabobs. Surprise surprise, guess what wasn’t there! There was barely any kabobs or other food items. Another bengali waitress was kind enough to help but she had told us the buffet does open at 2 (so the male waiter lied) but since they closed for their dinner buffet by 3 pm the chefs couldn’t make anymore food. So this whole thing is a complete scam — you’re paying more money for a to-go box and you’re actually getting way less food than if you actually dined in. Beyond that, they lie and tell you that you can’t come in until a certain time and after you pay, they still won’t have the items you are paying for and refuse to make any more. Apparently they’re short staffed, but then why offer the service? Also, regardless if they’re short staffed or not, we are paying the same price so why should I have to settle for less quality of service? The female waitresses were truly so sweet and I hope they find a better place to work at but the male waiter and the chefs could use some training in customer service and professionalism. We revisited once more to give them another chance and the pricing is ridiculous. It was $18 for two stringy kababs… with a huge bowl of rice, but what is there to even eat the rice with? Again the two female waitresses we encountered were so helpful through everything, but it’s a disappointment that this establishment is one of the only halal spots in wichita and its...
Read moreOrdered Grubhub from this restaurant quite excited to try out a new place, but we ended up quite disappointed by the food. We spent $59 including tip, so we had hoped it'd be worth the price but it was not.
We ordered: lamb curry 2x spice with rice, chicken kadhi with naan, mango lassi, and yogurt.
Yogurt - half liquid, half firm chunks. Tasted extremely curdled and I spit it out but still threw up. Called 'em and they say it was made today and supposed to taste like that. My boyfriend also almost puked. They offered to give me a replacement of something else of equal value when I called though, so credit where credit is due I suppose.
Lamb curry - let me preface, this is my go-to order, always max spice. I've ordered it at at least 4 other restaurants and loved it every time. The curry here was spicy, but had absolutely no curry flavor, or flavor other than spicy point blank. It actually tastes like a dupe for the chipotle tabasco sauce I have in the fridge minus the texture. The lamb was quite dry and gritty(?) textured and overcooked. The sauce did not soak into it so it was pretty bland.
Rice - tasted a bit plastic-y and was quite bland compared to other places.
Chicken kadhi - boyfriend says this is a 3/10, it was his order but I tried a bite and I'd agree. Far better than the lamb curry but used poor quality cuts of meat and was subpar but edible.
Naan - I actually thought this was pretty great compared to everything else, very run of the mill but edible and the texture was good enough. Best thing we ordered by far.
Mango lassi - not as good as other places' in my opinion, but I'm not sure if they just use a different brand or something.
As a replacement for the yogurt we chose beef samosas, I picked 'em up and we tried them before I posted this review so we could include them too - they weren't bad but you only get 2 for $5.50 and they're just beef, which is dry, overcooked and crumbly. 2/10, would not recommend for the price. The sauces they come with are pretty good though 🙂
Overall: DO NOT ORDER THE YOGURT! And 2x spice will be spicy but have no flavor otherwise. Would not eat here again, expensive...
Read moreOn the 02/08/2020 me and my husband decided to try try this restaurant out, as we came straight from some other state driving all the way here for work purposes, and as per some friend suggested this place, we decided to give it a try. We were very hungry and it was our dinner time. So exhausted that we didn't even feel ok to complain to the manager or the owner, as we just wanted to pay and leave and get some rest. 20 hours of drive made us go insane and getting such a low quality food with the bad rice, and yes when I say the rice went bad they smelled bad like rotten smell, we were thinking to start our new journey with some good quality food. We are not among those people who don't like to pay for our meal if it doesn't turn out to be good, we will still go ahead and pay. I an not here to say that the restaurant serves bad quality food, they have a good rating I must say because of all the hard work, but please make sure all the food is fresh people can get sick if on any of the following days the food isn't fresh or cooked every single day, people put lot of effort to make money and provide for for their families, please make it worth while for them to come again at your restaurant, you'd not want to have customer come to your place just once and never return back. If you are charging people with a good buffet rates per person, I believe the the quality should also be that good, as it's very hard to earn money and bring food to the table for our loved ones. I hope the owner will reconsider all the food before letting others try it out. As it could be seriously dangerous for customers health. Making several dishes at the the same time and keeping an options open for customers is not what matters, quality of food is what matter! I hope the owner will make sure of food is fresh and will never disappoint their customers again with not at least the food was rotten! Little issues can be handled with care Good Luck...
