I have come to el agave for years. The food has always been great but the service has gone down hill. We were seated very fast. Our waiter was Edgar and either he was very sick and should not have been at work or was not very good at customer service. We had chips and salsa. Ran out and I asked for more salsa. Never got it. Then the manager brought out our food (my meal was also wrong). Asked him for salsa. I got it as soon as we were finished eating. He forgot. I understand that. Then he gave us our checks and told us he took 50% off both out checks due to how long it was taking, he then left. I look at my check and nothing was taken off but my friends ticket was 50% off. Edgar finally showed up asking if we were ready for the checks and I explained to him that we already had them and what the manager said he was doing with our checks and mine was incorrect. He seemed very confused and just walked away. So I figured he went to talk with the manager. He then came back about 5 minutes later and took my card so I assumed he got everything squared away only to get a receipt with my card ran for the incorrect amount. He didn't even address the issue. Later, got out to the car and my debit card was now broken and I haven't had the card for very long. Even though I got the wrong food it was still good. Still got the food within 15 minutes but the customer service was horrible and took about 45 minutes to even pay for our food. Unfortunately not going back.
Update: I have seen previous reviews on the waiter I listed above and they...
Read morei dined in as a one person which they allowed( that’s a plus! i know some restaurants are pretty busy and usually for a big crowd) this one is perfect for that too. plenty of tables, i will say, however the booths are very tight, if you’re even slightly overweight you may have to wedge yourself in there but overall a minor issue. the service was really good, overall nice, and pretty quick. the food was good, not anything mind blowing, the portions are very good for what you pay for, the aglave burrito is what i got, very good shredded chicken, the veggies on top were really fresh, the rice had peas in it which was something i haven’t seen in mexican rice before so it was different not a bad thing! it was overall good. the price for a one appetizer and one plate of food was roughly 20 dollars plus a tip. obviously a family would pay a lot more but if you’re a single person looking for something new to try i would try this place, certainly get your fill. i heard from many customers ordering margaritas so it seems people have a taste for that here as well. the decor was very interesting, especially how the tables looked, the cleanliness of the place was good, just needs a good sweep around and under the tables but nothing gross. i give it overall a...
Read moreTo start off we got sat really quickly but once we were seated it took awhile to be greeted the first person to our table was a guy would brought us chips and salsa when he went to leave I said we were going to need more salsa as I say he had extra still on is tray. He said he would be right back with that. It took a little while for him to bring more salsa and when he did it seemed as though he slammed it in an unhappy manner. My friend whispered as he left if we thought he slammed it down and right after the guy said what did you say she said nothing then he came back to the table and said I did not slam it down and we said ok and left it at that. Then when our food came out me and my girlfriend ordered the fajitas for 2. They brought out everything thing except the tortilla and they said they would be right back with that. We probably wouldnt have cared how long it took if it wasnt for the fact that we had no silverware to eat with. So finally when we got the tortilla they dropped off and ran. So we sat trying to find someone to ask for silverware finally our waiter came back and we asked for silverware which she did bring back quickly. Over all the food was good, the service to say the least for some could be...
