Felipe's Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Wichita

The lady that is the owner of this location is literally one of if not the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of coming in contact with. Today on 12-29-22 I ordered online. Their website said ready in 20-30mins and apparently i missed the 30mins part. However, when I got there, there was roughly another 5mins before the 20mins was reached. Totally fine, but as I'm standing there minding my business the owner makes eye contact with me to say "it's going to be awhile ". That rubbed me the wrong way. I couldn't imagine being told that while sitting at my table waiting for my food let alone standing there patiently waiting minding my own business. After receiving my food in just under the 30mins I called a few minutes later to discuss how she treated me and was met with another brash statement by her, "If you don't like the way we treat you then don't come back". She said i complain of salsa when I come there, the only thing I've ever said about salsa is asking where to order it online. When I couldn't find it I would ask for extra in the notes and tip extra for the inconvenience of asking for additional salsa. Never once has she treated me with anything other than passive aggressiveness, or thanked me for my business and or the tips when all they had to do was hand me my to-go order. Needless to say I will definitely not be returning to this location and I will be informing other managers/owners at the other Felipes locations about how this particular owner/manager treated me. Gone are the days of "The customer is always right ". This place is a prime example of that in my personal experience with this owner. If the owner treats people like this then I can only imagine how everyone else that works at this location treats their customers. She should be ashamed of herself and hand the keys over to someone else that knows how to treat people. I can't imagine this review will do any good and I'm sure it will fall on deaf ears where she is concerned. This was my second time dining at this restaurant. My first experience a few years ago was not good. A friend of mine convinced me to try again. Well second time was worse. I was with a four other people and we were on separate tickets as we let the waitress know as she asked when seating us. She came back out with one bowl of chips and two salsas on spicy and one mild. We asked for additional chips and salsa since it was 5 people she replied, "we only allow one per table even if the tickets were separate." I ordered the 2 enchilada meal and honestly it was one enchilada cut in half. My friend ordered the 2 tacos meal and the meat was not seasoned causing the taco to be bland. The taco was loaded with lettace and shredded cheese. Salsa on the tacos could have added flavor but it would be extra. The waitress asked was my friend going to eat the food he told her no she took the plate and walked off speaking to a coworker in Spanish. Not knowing my friend was actually hispanic and white and fluent in spanish. The waitress and her coworkers said some very inappropriate things about our party and for the remainder of our visit it was uncomfortable. Felipe's has been a cherished part of my family's life for generations. I have fond memories of dining here as a child, and now, I'm delighted to continue the tradition with my own children on a weekly basis.
