--What I didn't like-- I had to wait 75 minutes past check-in to get my room.
The hotel room floors were filthy and turned the bottom of my feet and my kids socks black.
The hotel decided to forgo carpet and chose to install cheap peel-and-stick tile in the halls and rooms which not only cheapens the whole "high end" feel of the place, but also gives no buffer between you and the people above and below you. I happened to be placed underneath someone who didn't sleep and felt the need to stomp around and rearrange the walls of their apartment until 1am each morning before again resuming their noise at 5:45 every morning until they finally left around 9am. We got very little sleep during our stay because of this.
The washer and dryer is out in the open and very loud.
This is the first hotel I've stayed in that didn't supply a hairdryer.
The exhaust fan in one of our bathrooms didn't work leaving our room very humid after showering.
Each bed has 3 short, thick pillows that hurt our necks so we ended up sleeping without pillows after the first night.
The toilet paper is a cheap two ply brand
*The bathroom doors and unit walls could have used a wipe down.
I am convinced that the bottom of my shower was cleaned with Crisco as it was insanely slippery when I first got in so I had to get out and use dish soap and a rag to clean the tub so I wouldn't slip anymore.
This property is only gated from dusk till dawn and then the gates are left open all day, however they advertise the place like the gates are closed 24/7.
--What I did like- There was a full-sized equipped kitchen, fridge, washer and dryer in the unit
*There were plenty of towels in the unit that smelled nice and were very soft
*You are given a small dish soap, dishwasher & washer detergent, and dryer sheets.
*There was a dining room table with 4 chairs to accommodate eating in the unit.
The couch and chair was comfortable though the throw...
Read moreFront desk service was great at arrival. The building is old but not too rundown from what I could see. It looks pretty clean and kept. There is a nasty smell as soon as you walk in the building. The smell is not as strong in the front desk area. My room was in the building in the back. This smell is a mix between smoke, sweat, mold, and who knows what else. The same smell is present in the room. I stayed one night and was not the best. I got back in my room about 11:00pm the room across from mine had loud music playing. Not a big deal I figured it would stop soon since it was getting late but it actually got worse. We got ready to go to sleep, the noise sure got worse. The music was louder, there was now singing and screaming. I called the front desk about midnight, they said they would check it out. Try to go to sleep but couldn’t, the noise went on. It was 1:50am I could hear doors slamming, more screaming and more music. I called the front desk again but they hung up on me when I told them the noise was still going on. Not long after there was knocking at my door! WTH!!! Never before I had someone knocking on my door at 2:00am. I called the front desk again, they took a while to answer. I told them what was going on, they sound somewhat annoyed because I was calling. They asked what room was I in, if I I knew what the person at my door look like. While we were on the phone she said “I don’t know what is going on tonight” then she said “I can hear her now” and hung up. Not sure what happened out there but I was able to finally go to sleep. I woke up about 4:00 and I believe the noise was gone. This was not the...
Read moreCynthia and the entire Waterwalk team are incredible! From the moment we checked in, they made sure to get to know everyone in our family (down to our two pups). The were super helpful with anything we needed.
The stay itself is wonderful. The room was very clean, the furnishings we're well taken care of, and anything you needed was always on hand or just a simple phone call away. The grocery shopping was very helpful, too! Also, as nice as it is to have access to the gym right next door, it's even better when that gym has a full service bar!
The location is phenomenal! Being downtown and directly on the river was wonderful. I took my dogs for a walk down there each morning and night. Plus, there is a ton to do within walking distance. You can go to Delano, keeper of the plains, exploration place, go see the fountains, or attend one of the many concerts or food truck meetups just across the river. Of course this area will become even better once the stadium is finished being rebuilt!
All things considered, this was the very best place we could have stayed. Not only will we recommend it to anyone staying a few days or a few months, but we might even staycation there in the future because of how...
