Worst experience I've had in years today besides another ihop in KC a couple years ago. I had the biscuit sandwich & asked that the hash browns not be packed in to rectangular patty because it doesn't evenly cook the hash browns they came out haystack style like I requested EXCEPT they were half burnt and half raw so guessing they were still cooked while "packed" then spread open. Anyway they were so nasty I didn't even take a bite. Biscuit was so dry it immediately crumbled upon 1 st touch. One slice of bacon was raw the other 2 were burnt. Waitress Anisa was a total sweetheart. I made the TERRIBLE mistake of asking for the manager so she could correct problems with the cook. Wasn't worried about a free meal it was just so ridiculously bad that I wanted to let them know I know I would if it were my restaurant. BIG MISTAKE! Kateland the "manager" shows up looking at me like I'm a criminal! I asked her if she would eat what was on my plate she responded "yes she likes crispy hash browns". Instead of having or accepting ANY type of accountability for her business and showing ANY kind of resemblance of customer service she just treated me as if how dare I complain! I couldn't believe this as I grew up in Wichita with a lot of family owned businesses and managed a grocery store for 20 years and ALWAYS gave 1st class customer service. Kateland the rude mgr said I'll pay for it have a nice day as she walked away from my table. I told my NICE waitress Anisa(who should be manager if not the owner) that I wasn't trying to get a free meal but just couldn't believe the cook would send such atrocious food out to a customer! Next thing I know "Kateland" the manager comes back out and says she just got off the phone with the owner that he said I am not welcome back at the restaurant and she said to leave before she calls the police! I could not believe my ears! So since I complained I'm treated like a criminal instead her taking responsibility and showing empathy and customer service. Made me realize that the world is a different place these days! Unbelievable. Never eat at this restaurant! If you want to be treated with respect and eat good food every visit go to Doodah Diner downtown Wichita. I should have went there today and I would not have had to waste time and negative energy! No wonder there are a ton of bad reviews about food & management. 4.0 is not a good Google rating especially for food! EDIT LATER EARLY AM: Just spent the last hour and a half in the bathroom. Although I only had a few bites I have been sick in the bathroom from the horrible food I got today at the IHOP on N Maize Rd. Thank God I didn't eat very much. I noticed another review from a week ago where a girl also got sick from this same restaurant! Buyer beware this ihop is managed terribly and the owner should be there to fix...
Read moreI can remember going here at the day after it opened and my kids and I had sat there for 30 minutes waiting to be seated and then we ended up going in ordering our food and we sat there waiting for food for almost 45 minutes only for just my kids as food to come out and for mine to not even be put in after my kids at 8 their food and we sat there for 10 minutes during waiting to find a waiter the waiter finally came up to me and said how did I like my meal and I told him I didn't get a meal and he said oh I'm sorry I forgot to put it in so then I told him that I just wanted to go and I wanted my receipt and he said that he would make me a fresh meal and that he would give me a huge discount off of it and then you give me a to-go box I told him that was fine and then I turn around and waited for another 20 minutes just to get that mail which only takes about 7 to cook it's not hard and then find out he didn't even give me a discount on the receipt so I go up and I go to the manager who is working in that time it was a taller older gentleman maybe in his 40s mind you I don't have his name but it was the second day of opening and it would have been during the Saturday morning rush hour if that helps but he looks at me scolding and judgmental and he says to me why would we give you a discount and I told him the whole reasoning to this and he been intern hunts down the waiter leaves me there with my kids leaves his daughter unattended leaves other people unattended only to go there and yell at the waiter for what it happened but then in turn he comes back and then he gives me a 10% discount saying I accepted fresh food from them and that they can't give me a big discount for the fact that I sat there without food nobody helped me nobody even filled our drinks nobody even gave us a to-go box like we asked for and the fact that they gave me fresh food is all they said so if you're making the payment I didn't go back until recently a week ago and I got sat down fairly quickly it was a really nice lady who helped us and the food was decent I wouldn't say it was fresh at all it was pretty cold and then only to intern get charged for someone else's check and it's sad because we finally have been waiting forever for an IHOP to be put closer to the northwest side and this is the s* you guys give us thank you I hop international...
Read moreCONSUMER ALERT - POSSIBLE MONEY SCAM: We ate at this IHOP on 2/14 and when it came time to pay our bill something didn't seem right. The amount of our ticket seemed "a little" high. The waitress did not bring me an itemized receipt along with my CC receipt so I had nothing to compare it to. (1st concern) I decided to go to the cash register and inquire. The girl that came up there looked at my receipt as I explained my situation and she seemed confused as well. (2nd concern) Then our waitress came up and she seemed to be a bit shaken when the other girl started to question her. (3rd concern) What happened next was very odd. The waitress, Arica, did some things on the screen to correct it. When the other girl informed her that was not the correct way she shut her down and said the charge on my CC would be closed out at the correct amount. When I asked our waitress what happened. She said she had mistakenly switched our ticket with another table. I couldn't help but feel this was a lie also. After we left the restaurant I called another location and talked to the manager. Just as I had suspected it is "ALWAYS" the practice to have an itemized receipt along with the CC receipt. The Manager I was speaking with suggested I reach out to corporate. I decided to start here b/c people need to be made aware. My money comes too hard right now with the current world we live in.
The amount of difference was less than $2 and I'm sure most would not question it. Imagine if this happened on every ticket though...........and as of today, 2/15, the incorrect amount is still showing on my CC.
