My husband who is a black man in his late 30s is taking up sewing to create a dress for his daughter. I was so upset to hear about the experience he had with the employees tonight at this store, I know he wouldn’t want to complain on his own because he’s prideful. He said he was followed around by an employee in a few aisles. Another lady in the sewing area asked him if he had been sewing for a while and when he started to tell her about his project for his daughter she cut him off, he said he didn’t understand why she asked him about his experience in sewing just to cut him off and changed the subject. Then to top it off when he went to check out he paid with cash and said the cashier who was an older Hispanic looking lady was taking a very long time to finish the transaction and it was because she was running the bills (20s, 5s and 1s mind you) under a light and then held it up. Is that really necessary? I really feel like these women should learn to treat all their customers with dignity and respect regardless that some customers don’t fit the mold of the common Hobby Lobby shopper. This is the second time he’s had a similar experience where he felt this way. We’ll take our...
Read moreI ran in today to purchase some fabric to recover my dining room chairs. The women working in the fabric department saw me several times. I know because we made eye contact. She never asked if I needed help or had questions and that's fine. I made a selection and laid a bolt of fabric on the cutting table. She finally came over and said (without a smile and in a tone that made me feel like I was bothering her) how much do you want? I asked if the fabric was on sale. Her response (NO). I asked for 3 yards. She cut it and wrote purchase ticket. No thank you, nothing. I know you are probably wondering what I'm upset about... She made me regret going in to the store. If she's having a bad day and doesn't intend to provide customer service... she should just go home! Fortunately the young lady at the register on the North side of the store went out of her way to help me. She even showed me how to find a discount coupon online through my phone. She smiled and thanked me for shopping at Hobby Lobby. I wish I had looked for her name tag because she made the difference in me returning to shop at Hobby Lobby again! She...
Read moreAustin and Crystal are absolutely amazing employees at your store!! Stellar work ethic and 10 tons of initiative out of both of them! They are the definition of initiative; which simply means “doing what I know I need to do without being told”! They were quick to accommodate every need I had and I noticed that when Austin’s name was called, he started to report to that location but a customer walked up to the cutting table ready to wait for Crystal who was busy with my fabric cutting order. He quickly stopped in his tracks when he noticed the newest customer, “Oh!! I can help you right here!!” He cut her fabric and as soon as he finished, he immediately went straightforward to wherever he had previously been summoned 3 minutes before! Excellent hires!! Be sure that you treat them as Scripture says, “A servant is WORTHY of his/her...
