I had heard amazing things about Swig, so we decided to order some drinks and try it out. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience and do not plan on going back. I received the wrong drink 4 times before we decided to leave.
We used their website and ordered ahead. My partner had ordered The Founder and I ordered the Happy Camper with coconut cream instead of half and half because I have a milk allergy. A google search confirmed for me ahead of placing our order that Swig's coconut cream is dairy-free, which is what I'd figured to be true given I generally am safe to order food or drink with coconut cream or coconut milk elsewhere and be safe. When we first received our order, they served us two Founder drinks, we'd given them back my beverage and let them know that I had ordered the Happy Camper. Then, they brought me a Happy Camper with half and half. My partner said that we had ordered it ahead on their website with coconut cream because I have a dairy allergy. The drive-through server then began treating us with annoyance, sighing and rolling her eyes, and took the drink back again to remake it. Unfortunately, she returned again with the same drink, a Happy Camper with half and half. My partner explained again that I cannot have half and half due to to a dairy allergy, which is why we had ordered it with coconut cream. The server then told us that their coconut cream is a coconut creamer made with dairy and they do not serve dairy-free options. We were confused because the website stated that it was dairy-free. She argued again that it was a dairy coconut creamer and not a coconut cream, the left and returned with a Happy Camper containing no half and half or coconut cream, just root beer with marshmallow syrup. Given this was the fourth drink I'd received and we were thoroughly confused regarding what their website stated vs what the server told us, we decided to just accept it and leave. We were patient and kind with the server the whole time, but didn't feel we received the same respect even though we were only trying to get the drinks we had originally paid for. It was far too expensive and stressful of an experience to make it worth a return to this business. We were both very disappointed.
I sent a message through their website to the company asking for clarification on whether their coconut cream was dairy-free or not and never received a response. That was probably 3 weeks ago. I normally don't post negative reviews, but it was such a bad experience that it has still been sitting with me. I have anaphylaxis reactions from dairy, otherwise I wouldn't have continued to ask for the drink to be made as I'd ordered it...
Read moreI have to change my review, I did have 5 stars. I never received my rewards, I did yesterday after spending almost 14$ for two drinks. But they scanned my app the time before when I bought 4 drinks for about 30$, and I never received my rewards. I will never go back now. To me, that's stealing from your customers. If you offer rewards, give them the rewards for their purchases. I would recommend Just a Sip. If you want a mixed drink, they have basically the same good drinks for better prices.
