We sat for 15 mins before our waitress approached us. We sat for another 15 mins and waited for her to bring our drinks back. She took our order but kept looking at the door and around the restaurant. Didn't write half of it down. We ordered mozzarella sticks to come out before the meal. About 25-30 mins passed we now have empty drinks and no mozzarella sticks. So I approached a different server and asked her for refills and if she could check on the food. She did with a quickness. Another 20-25 mins passed then our food starting coming out. Mind you I have a 3 year old who was starving by this point. 3 of the adults food comes out but nothing for the child or myself. We waited another 10 mins. Then the other server came and asked us how we were doing. She went back to see where the food was. She brought my son's out and some of my order but it was wrong. Then our original server brought out my daughter's food and handed her a VERY hot plate without warning. Which tells me A. She just burnt my child. B. The food was sitting in the window for a long time under the heat lamp. Unacceptable. Order was still all screwed up. When going to pay for the food I tried to tell the original server if she would have paid attention to us when she was taking our order then maybe our order wouldn't have come out all screwed up. While explaining this in a calm manner some other server jumps in and says don't talk to my server that way. I asked if she was the manager. She said, no. I definitely asked for a manager. Which he was useless. He smiled and nodded and said sorry we have so many Togo orders. So I guess that was his way of telling me I didn't matter because there was so many Togo orders. It was Christmas. We just wanted to have a nice relaxing dinner. And we got the exact opposite. I still never got my pancakes that I'm pretty sure I paid for but since they didn't give me my receipt back I can't even look at it to see. And I'm out my pancoins. All of it was unacceptable. Patience was the server who did amazing. I'm a food and beverage manager and I've never dealt with anything like this. Because I never would have let a situation even remotely escalate to this. It would have been handled on the first complaint. IHOP you are usually my go to a couple times a week or every other week. But tonight's service was the worst service I have ever experienced in my life. I would be embarrassed if I was the server or any of the 3 managers that were on site from what I was told. But didn't see one of them until the very end. And my daughters hand is ok but if that would have been my 3 year olds little hand we would be having a completely different...
Read moreI normally love iHop. It's a classic chain with standard food, and you can pretty much expect things are going to taste good.
It's amazing how one bad server can change the experience so quickly.
I ordered the cold brew. I was brought the vanilla cold foam cold brew, an item that was more expensive than what I ordered. When I pointed this out to our server, he denied it twice, telling me I was wrong, before I finally pointed to the menu and verbalized the difference between the two. Only then did he apologize and correct the order... Except when he brought out the correct order, he said, "I'm sorry about that. I always add the foam, because it just doesn't taste very good without it. I like to add some flavor, you know?" Great for you. You're not the one drinking it. Don't make assumptions about what your customer wants to order, and don't gaslight them when they call you on it.
Meal continues, our check comes out... And he'd entered in the more expensive item we did not order that he'd made the assumption we'd prefer, so we then had to wait around for our check to get corrected, wasting both his time and ours. If he would have just brought what the customer had asked for to begin with, it wouldn't have been an issue.
Lesson to the server: don't assume you know what your customer wants based on your personal preferences. Ask questions if you aren't sure.
Lesson to fellow customers: always double check your bill, because servers at this location will try small up charges you didn't ask for to nickel and dime you...

When I first arrived at the restaurant, it wasn't busy, but there was a large party present. I was dining with a party of three and ordered the veggie omelet meal, specifically requesting it be made with regular eggs instead of egg whites. When it arrived, I noticed it had barely any vegetables—no spinach, avocados or onions as described on the menu—and it was topped with a nasty pesto that wasn't mentioned in the description.
I sent it back and the waiter seemed irritated. I asked if they could add more vegetables since there were so few in the dish, especially considering the meal costs $15. He informed me that I would be charged extra for additional veggies.
The omelet was remade but again came out without avocado, and onion the spinach was simply sitting on top; there were still very few vegetables. The waiter mentioned that they had removed my meal from the bill as if that would make it better.
It frustrated me because my food should have been prepared according to the menu and my request. I would have been perfectly fine paying for my meal if it had been made correctly. Instead, I left the restaurant hungry because I couldn’t eat what I was served. It felt like a waste of time, and I wish I had chosen a different restaurant. I brought the omelet home it's so gross I do not like egg whites it's going in...
