One of the only excellent sit-down dinner w/ great food and service establishments we currently know of that stays open till 10 (current timeline on COVID is that we are in stage 3 of vax’s) - most decent dining closes at 9; unless it’s a select few bar & grills. With that said, it is tough to eat late at night on a weekday sometimes if you get off work at 7:30 or 8 PM.
A real gem and a joy to learn this later evening availability. Also, there’s a lot to be said about the service in the atmosphere. Not only does it seem like one of Wichita‘s five stars, but also I enjoy the location. Now onto the important stuff, the food!
First, the appetizer that we didn’t have to order, which was complimentary, was corn cake brought out in a little tiny pan, and it was stupendous! It was served with butter and it seemed fresh.
My waitress suggested that I go for the pork chops because it was a large meal she said sometimes it was enough for two. Usually when people say that it’s not because I’m a large portion eater. However this time it really was true the two pork chops came stacked on each other and each was about an inch and a half thick and the size of a chicken breast. They were smothered in caramelized onions and sauce which was delicious.
Now for the beverages. They had half-price martinis and margaritas so we tried one of each. They were delicious and the entire bill seemed much less expensive than we anticipated.
Needless to say that waitress got a $20 tip that night! And... we will go back!!!
PS. We tried going to Brickyard brewery first, and as we walked in, some kid came up to us, and I’ll be at he had a mascon, but he just was tough to understand and didn’t look at us and said something and I asked him what he said, and then he repeated it and what he had said was, “we close at eight,” and it was 7:39. I don’t know if they didn’t want our business, or if he just wanted to go home, or what the deal was; but it was not a good welcome. Furthermore; it was very odd that the parking lot was fairly packed. No way on earth were all those people...
Read moreI finally decided to come here after driving by on Rock Rd. Countless times. I am very glad I stopped. My waitress, Lyndsay, took very good care of me. I got the Hawaiian ribeye. Kind of expensive but it was worth it. A little bit crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Bursting with flavor. I had Sweet tea to drink. It was extremely delicious. Definitely fresh! I wish I had some to drink right now! I also got an appetizer. Chips and queso or something down that line anyway. At this point I don't know if I would recommend that appetizer or not. It wasn't too bad. There are candles on each table and they are lit. You can see them cooking the food, which is kind of neat. I tried their cream gravy. It was extremely delicious! It looked like every single employee that works here loves their job. The managers only hire the best here. I mentioned my waitress, Lyndsay. She is just one example of the good people who work for Redrock Canyon. I truly believe that every waiter or waitress here would take excellent care of you! My cup of tea and water were never lower than half a glass and she would bring me a new one. I wasn't going to get a sweet tea to go but she gave it to me without me asking. I'm glad she did because when I took a sip of it on my way home from Wichita, it was like the icing on the cake! It was extremely good! I would highly recommend this place. It would be considered a little more down the line of fine dining. $20 to $30 per person is about right. I spent a little more that that. If you've never been here before and you are thinking about going, Do it. I went about 8 o'clock on a weeknight and there was no wait time. I think it's busier on...
Read moreWe went to eat here a couple weekends ago. All of our meals and drinks were great, except the salmon. It was very dry and I only had 2 bites of it, but finished my sides. Not a huge deal, I called a manager over and I believe it was Ian that came by. I explained the situation and showed him that I had only taken 2 bites before I threw in the towel. He said he would pass it along to the kitchen. He offered to remake it but I told him we were almost done eating and that I didn't want my party to have to wait another 30 mins for me. When the check came there was no sort of discount and no offer to make it right in the future. I was in a group of 8 so I did not want to call Ian back to the table because I realize that makes some of my guests uncomfortable, so I just decided to call in and speak with the manager.
A few days later I called back and was put on hold for over 10 mins, I hung up. I again called back on 5/23 and was on hold for over 10 mins once again and again I hung up. I figured I'd try a different approach so I called before they opened on Monday 5/24 and left a message for a manager to call me. Here we are on 5/27 and no one has ever called me back. I know times are tough finding help in the restaurant industry right now, which is why I gave them 4 chances before I left a review and all 4 times Red Rock Canyon Grill failed.
If you are looking for a quality grill in the area I highly recommend Newport Grill, Firebird's, or Texas Roadhouse. I've had much better service at all 3 of these and they are all within 5...
