UPDATE: Seeing other people's reviews - no one offered to stamp our hands, and I didn't even know anyone did that at this location until reading this. Maybe that's because we took older kids? But I didn't see anyone else getting, giving, or checking hand stamps, either.
Original review: It served its purpose of giving my great-niece (age 11) and great-nephew (age 8) something fun to do on a rainy, windy evening when the weather had canceled first a planned hiking event and then the little local carnival backup plan. The kids, visiting from out of state, had already gone to Nova across the river on a previous evening, so Chuck E. Cheese's arcade rounded out spring break. It cost $40 for 40 minutes of unlimited play for the two kids ($20 each), and we didn't buy any food or drinks. It looked like most other people were there for the arcade, not the restaurant, as well.
I did like that the tables had a QR code to let someone just sit down wherever they liked and order without needing to get a server's attention. That would be especially convenient for a parent who, for example, wanted to keep an eye on young children ranging freely among the games and also had an infant in a carrier.
I also liked that they had a section of games appropriate for preschoolers and toddlers, out of the way of where older children might be running, laughing, and not paying attention. (Though we didn't see anyone actually running.)
I think I like that the tickets won went back on the cards. It was definitely nice not to try to keep up with paper tickets, but it was also all but impossible to know if a game malfunctioned and didn't credit tickets properly at any point.
Oh - and the prizes are still total garbage, but the kids liked getting...
Read moreHas to be the cleanest Chuck E.Cheese I ever been too lol and the staff is always visible so you can easily ask for help. Its such a big place and fun for kids to enjoy. I reccomend getting the pass and use as a bracelet for the kids to wear for unlimited access to the games and rides. You dont have to buy the food here but you do need to pay for admission to get there. You can pay by the hour to have access to rides or have a a certain amount of money per ride which isnt ideal. Everytime the child wins grab the tickets to turn in at the end for a prize...although the prizes require ALOT of tickets. They have a machine that u input your tickets and it will print u out a receipt that counts to let u know how much u have to spend on ur prize. Dress the kids comfortable to play as well as the adult accompanying them as sometimes the kids need help with starting a game or pressing a jammed button. If the child wins and there are no tickets in the machine left, just flag over an employee and they will refill it for u. Overall , it's a nice place for a quick way to burn the kids out all their energy just be prepared they aren't going to want to leave! 𤣠Dont forget to take picture of the memorable moment ...they have a machine that's sketches the image or an actually photo booth...both are cute and you pay with the same car your using to pay games. Save the kids cards they are reusable and you wont have to pay the fee to get a...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePurchased a 45 minute play time card at the Wilkes Barre location yesterday. Due to extreme business at the location we left to come back today. We are told the card now has $0 value despite us not using it at all. So the money we loaded and gave to Chuck E. Cheese for a service is now in Your corporate pockets - we however donāt get the service. The wonderful customer service person told me initially there is nothing that can be done. After I made a bit of an issue she went to the manager and came back with 30 points āsorry, this is all I can doā. Absolutely unacceptable. After asking for her manager she heads to the manager telling the manager to āget him out of my faceā. The manger - after telling me she did all she could then offers 45 points saying itās the equivalent of what I paid for.
Your services are bad, the policy is bad, the customer service is horrendous.
I have brought my children here monthly to play games for the last 4 years. We have celebrated 3 birthdays here. This is my first time purchasing time instead of the points - rest assured after the terrible anti customer policy of stealing their money if they donāt use their card, and the horrendous service we received here, we will...
