I went to Ocean treasures on Saturday, December 7 I was there around 8:30 9:00 PM and the vibe was very urban I don’t feel that it was polished and inviting completely there’s a bar there that is not stocked due to not having the liquor license in the advertisement of coming to visit there is no statement of BYOB until then there’s no ambience music that has been playing at this time. There seem to be a little bit of chaos when it came to arranging seating for people people kind of seemed disorganized in who was waiting and who was being waited on and needed to be waited on at this point we waited about a half an hour to be seated which is typical for a newly open restaurant or greater I wasn’t disappointed about that. As were seated to our table I think the seating arrangements were a little bit bingo hall ish. The dining experience did not provide any sort of privacy between you and other parties you were kind of close to each other. The staff seem to be a little bit poorly trained on proper dining room at a kid I witnessed a young gentleman yelling across through the divider at another employee just to get his attention saying “aye bro” several times now the waiter that was waiting on us he was a bit more poised and understanding of how to operate as a waiter and he corrected that individual at that point in time but upon staff training that something that they should all know from the gate I commend the gentleman who did wait on us he was very proper on points he knew the menu he knew the options he knew how to get the best deal for your money and be satisfied he provided knowledge about the flavors which were best which were common you know even the sizing of the crab legs versus what you think you were going to get versus what you actually get he was very thorough. At this point we ordered drinks and some appetizers I myself had calamari she had hush puppies that was all good that was all good no problem there but as were waiting on the entrées to come out my girlfriend notices something and says to me babe what is that I say what and I turned to my right and I see about 3 inches away from my arm where it was resting a roach crawling in my direction yes a roach at this point I informed the other individuals in my area that there is a roach in the building we proceeded to reach for the nearest employee in regards to addressing this issue with management management was a little delayed in coming out and immediately provided their schedule of pest control and still wanted people to pay for their meals at this point I threw my hands up I have had enough this is not what I’m going to stand for and I chose to remove myself from the restaurant I am providing this review because Because it is your choice Dine smartly, unhungry but...
Read moreThis was my first time eating from here yesterday evening. I asked varies groups of people upon seeing them leave out of Ocean Treasure's Cajun Seafood & Bar (Located on 3450 William Penn Hwy, Pittsburgh, PA 15235,in Penn Center Wilkins Twp bordering Monroeville 15146 areas even though it has a Penn Hills area zip code, it is NOT in the heart of Penn Hills area for the locals who know what I'm referring to.), how the places food was; with everyone saying that the food was really good, one couple, even stating to try their Hush Puppies, because they were unbelievablly good tasting. I was so EXCITED to try this new place! My order was ordered on site, while waiting, for Take Out. So, I decided to try them out the establishment. I did NOT have the same experience of receiving really good tasting Cajun Seafood. My asked about the food & it's prep before ordering, & I was told that my food would come with Cajun seasoning on it, but in fact, NONE of my food had any Cajun seasoning on it, NOT ONLY that, my seafood basket, NOR fries had NO type of seasoning on them making them very bland. Also, concerning my order of their Hush Puppies was JUST AS DISAPPOINTING as my unseasoned Cajun Flovered. My order of the small ten Hush Puppies were cooked way to long, because all ten of mine were cooked VERY WELL DONE to the point that they were "rock hard" to break open with your hands, mad crunch to them when trying to bite into two of them, before having to throw them out. Their only (as I was told) hot sauce is NOT actually "Red Hot" as my order taker discribed, but really "Texas Pete", which has NOT a bit of heat to it, both brands taste vastly different, so do NOT get confused on the bottom of the front of their menu where it states that they have various levels of HOT Hot flavors that you can choose from for your food. The Hot Sauce & Shrimp Sauce NEEDS to be ON POINT when a "Cajun" food place chooses for their, HOT & their SPICY sauces & seasonings, because when you say, "CAJUN" in the name of your food menu & business title, people who know what REAL CAJUN food & seasoning is & taste like (Full of specific Flavor), which, in my experience with my food order last night, was SERVRELY LACKING of that Authentic Cajun seasoning flavor, & basically, no real existence of a real/really HOT sauce, which, goes hand-&-hand when you say Cajun food. Also, this food establishment has a "Buyer Beware Warning" listed in RED writing toward the bottom right side of the Front of their menu, & in YELLOW listed on the BACK mid right side as well: "NO REFUNDS ON ANY FOOD...
Read moreUpon entering my wife and I were promptly seated only after being acknowledged after 3 staff members had a conversation about seating arrangements. We followed the hostess to our table and I was able to sit down in a comfortable booth only after having to wipe what I suspect was crab off of the seat. The ambiance left a bit to be desired as "Promiscuous" by Nelly Furtado (featuring Timbaland) was playing at a volume just loud enough to prevent having a nice conversation with my lovely wife followed by music that created a club atmosphere. The food came out very quickly which is great but indicates it may have been prepared earlier and left in a steam table until ready to serve. I was offered a cracker and scissors for my crab legs (which I did not receive) only after almost completing my meal. I was thinking to myself "It would have been nice to have these from the beginning." but I made due with my fork. The quality of the food was average at best but if you like eating a meal thrown together and served in a plastic bag with plastic gloves and a plastic lobster bib, this is the place for you. In summation my ever patient wife and decided we cannot wait to never come back to this restaurant again....
