Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Willmar

Applebees service has seriously gone downhill. We went at the end of May and didn’t have great service but it wasn’t terrible either. Waitress wasn’t super attentive and was generally slow. However last night we went and had a pretty bad experience overall and we are to the point where we live equal distance from the hutch Applebees and that’s where we’ll be going from now on. We got to Applebees around 5:30. It wasn’t extremely busy or anything either. The waitress was unfamiliar with the menu, drinks we ordered took an abnormal amount of time to get to the table, and one of the drinks was incorrect. We placed an order for appetizers, two were delivered to our table and when the third came out the food expo gal walked up to our table, looked at our waitress, and proceeded to bring our third appetizer to a different table (assuming it had to be ours because it came out within minutes of the other two appetizers, we then had to wait an extra 10 minutes for that third appetizer). On top of all of that, we literally never got our food. Our waitress didn’t come back to our table often to check drinks and such, and when she finally did come around 6:20 and we asked for our food, she said “I’m sure it’ll be here in a minute but I can go check” as if we were inconveniencing her. She came back and informed us her “tablet died” when she was putting in our order so there was a “technical difficulty” and our food didn’t get put into the system. That was pretty hard to believe being that she was using a regular POS system to put in our food, the same one she put everyone else’s food into. No other single table had that happen to them. She was a little apologetic and we decided we were going to pay for our drinks and leave. She then brought us our bills and the appetizers won’t even put in at the happy hour price. We weren’t offered a single discount, the manager never once came up to apologize or...

We were there for dinner on 1-27 2017 Our experience was not a good one .both my husband and I ordered steak med and when it came my husbands was barely warm and well done .mine was raw the waitress came to ask how our food was tasting my husband stated his was barely warm I said that I did not know as I could not cut it I said I don't know if it's the knife or me and she said a little bit of both and left so I continued to SAW at it and she returned to see how I was doing and I said it is raw and I can not cut it .some of the other staff noted also that it was raw .she brought me another steak which was charred and over done and dry .when she came back to see how the new steak was I said I do not know I can't cut it .she said do you want to see the manger I said no I do not want to make a fuss .we just need to get out of here .My husbands steak was never addressed as we were to involved in mine .his NEVER was addressed we paid and left HUNGRY .the extra sad part was this was our 49th anniversary ...what a memory . The only reason I will give it 1 star is that it wouldn't let me post without a star .the staff was friendly but she did not get the meal out in a timely fashion as it was cold the butter wouldn't even melt on our suppose to be BAKED potato which was actually steamed ...hey guys there is A difference.won't be coming...

Applebee's made it right, we ordered again and the burgers were way better. Very good this time. Thanks Applebee's.

12-6-24 Not sure why we went back to this place. Did curbside for their burger specials. There was nothing positive about this visit. Order was 15 minutes late at curbside, we went inside to get it. Wrong cheese, ordered cheddar and could see where they originally put american, wiped it off and stuck on pepper jack, dried out burgers, chunks of the burger just laying randomly in the box, dry cold and tough. My daughter also placed an order and her chicken filet was so dry she was trying not to choke. Maybe if there would have been more than a time sized amount of ranch that would have helped. The Pepsi was good, that's it. I'll stick to Culver's. I would like to talk to a manager.

Our visit a couple of weeks ago was not good. Half price appetizers were sold out, drinks were thick and syrupy, steak was gray and looked and tasted boiled. When we questioned the waiter he claimed medium rare doesn't get browned because of the shorter cook time. Simply not true. Turn up the grill temp to get a good sear. Just not impressed for the $180 we spent...
