Compass Arena, beautiful place but dismal service. I attended a Balkan star's concert there on February 11, 2023. First, they falsely advertised the cost of the general admission ticket, it was supposed to be $70, however, at the entrance they charged $80 ( cash only ). Additionally, they charged for everything , if they could they would have charged the air you breathe. One wasn't allowed to stand next to a table, unless you paid an additional $100!!! The VIP tables were a sacred space next to the stage where absolutely no one from the general public was allowed to come close to ( this is not how Balkan concerts are conducted, I have been to more than a dozen of them, everyone is allowed access to the stage). Their security guards were watching everyone like a hawk. The service staff was rude and despicable. One of the hostesses was threatening to push concert goers out of the way because they were standing in a certain area that was closer to the roped off VIP space. The entire night they kept playing ridiculously annoying advertisements unrelated to the concert on their many flat screen TVs. There were people smoking / vaping inside, which I thought, now I am not from Illinois, is illegal in a concert venue. To conclude, this place has nasty host staff and is greedy beyond measure. I will never step foot in this place ever again...

Asked the hostess over the phone if bringing a cake and a few snacks would be alright since we were also going to be purchasing appetizers and full meals and drinks, she said yes. Brought cake and snacks only to be told at the door that no outside food is allowed and that only food from their kitchen could be eaten there. First red flag. The menus they provided us with on the table looked delicious and when we went to order they told us that we only had a selection of ten items from their menu of over 50 items. Why not tell us this ahead of time before we were ready to order? Two of us decided on a menu item we saw at the table next to us. Our waiter told us that item was not available to us as the people at the table had preordered it ahead of time. Excuse me, what??? So some tables have to adhere to a limited menu and others don’t? The staff seemed to have had family members dining in who were given special treatment and allowed to order items not on the limited menu. Also never order their lemonade, it’s disgusting and straight up lemon juice with nothing else - no water or sugar mixed in. What a joke and...
