aView — Restaurant in Wilmington

We sat ourselves as suggested by the hostess. No service was provided to us the entire time we patiently waited at our table for more than 20 mins (with the entire restaurant being fairly unoccupied and not busy). Not an offer of water, a menu, nothing. Looks from staff but ignored by all. One waiter came to pick up their tip left from the prior patron and when asked for assistance they simply told us, "continue waiting". They quickly walked away to service other customers that had just seated well after us . Ignoring us like we didn't exist was the same action taken from all the waiters/waitresses who helped everyone but us.

Being the only POC in the bar it was clear we were not welcome there. We got the message and quietly left. As out of towners that visit Wilmington often during the summer, we will never be back to this business to endure this type of non-service. All staff should be replaced but thank you for showing your true colors. Appreciate the transparency! Show me who you are and I'll make an informed decision from there. Friendly service, fantastic view (7th floor of aLoft hotel), cool vibe. This place was super clean, open and airy. It was sufficient for a birthday drink and nibble.

One star off service. I don’t like to be ignored and made to ask if I should sit, wait to be seated, if there is table service for drinks or bar only to order a drink… etc. It wasn’t busy staff engaging in convo with one another mostly.

The cheese and charcuterie while visually pleasing was lacking. Meats were more like deli meat you would consider for sandwiches. Probably fine for anyone who eats with their eyes. I eat for taste. Cheeses did not have flavor. I can’t make this up. Overall the board did not meet the mark for us.

My wine (Chardonnay) was just okay. There we 2 options on the menu but was told only one was available. Not sure what was poured. Light and almost watery. That light. My husband had a smoked Old Fashioned. No complaints.

Have come here often and Love the food not only because it tastes wonderful, but the portion size is perfect. The price is spot on in relation to portion. Why over pay just to take some home in a box? Sydney, our server, made the day!! Very crowded Saturday but she kept every table engaged and served. Food came out quickly and is fabulous as usual BIGGEST PROBLEM...valet at front forced me and husband to leave handicap parking unless we paid them $10 otherwise told they would tow us. No sign posted other than where they stood. Don't think it's legal to force someone with a placard to vacate a legal handicap parking spot. But that's for the hotel...
