Gnome Nom Nom Deli- Morning Treats Afternoon Eats — Restaurant in Wilmington

If I could give this place more than 5/5 I would! My fiancé and I went to this Deli to grab some sandwiches, a chili dog, and some pasta salad, after some birthday activities in downtown. We ate our hotdogs at the shop and delicious pasta salad, and when we started packaging the sandwiches back one fell on the floor. The owner was incredibly sweet, and offered to make us a new sandwich. It was SO kind, and really showcased a pleasant act. We ate the sandwiches shortly after getting home, and let me tell you... I have never had such fresh, delicious, and balanced sandwiches. The lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc and cold cuts were super fresh. Found this hidden jem by happenstance. Was hungry though I would give it a try. Ordered a sandwich my card declined they simply gave me the sandwich, yes I went right home got cash returned and paid for my lunch. They were so kind, an example of southern hospitality that I thought was gone, a myth of a bygone era. Now about the food, I'm from LA Sandwiches are different. What i received was not what I expected. East coast delis pile on meat and cheese making them hard to eat because they so big. They gave me this sandwich knowing I might never return. My wife and I were in town for a wedding. We wanted a simple breakfast later in the morning of the day of the wedding, so we decided to go to Gnome Nom Nom. We both had turkey sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches. Mine was on a croissant and her sandwich was on a bagel. We both agreed that the sandwiches ranked right up there with the best we ever had. The croissant was soft inside and flakey outside. The bagel was very good as well. Turkey sausage can be a bit rubbery but not their turkey sausage as it was moist, tender and flavorful.
