So this past weekend my family went here to eat. As always the food was good, server was good. The cook not so much. Let me explain, he was a very busy night there were a lot of people there. There was this one couple where the woman was standing against the wall holding her dish when we arrived, a dish of uncooked food, there were at least 10 to 15 people in line behind her, and there were at least three to four people whose food was up on the counter waiting to be cooked ahead of her. Apparently she had an allergy to peanut product, which is understandable she did not want her uncooked food close to where people would be using a peanut based product on their food. So she was patiently waiting to have her food prepared. Now when it got to be our turn and about 15-20 minutes past, we volunteered to wait so the cook could clean the grill, cook her food, and then do ours, the cook told her he had a special place for her and told her to wait. When she reached out to management to ask for assistance, because she's been waiting so long the manager came over spoke to the Cook, and he proceeded to fuss and flip off the lady and her husband, which calls them to storm out and leave. Now if this wasn't bad enough they didn't get to eat they didn't pay for anything, but let's be honest this place throws away more food then why those two folks had on their plate everyday. The manager proceeded to call the owner, which in turn led to the cops being called because the couple didn't pay for their food. I volunteered to pay for the food it's not that big a deal, to which the response was it was not my responsibility and to keep my money it was okay. The issue I have with this is that people were there who were willing to wait to allow this lady to get service, and the gentleman responsible for giving her service the cook at this point was very rude and flipping her off was the final straw. I'm giving the place a two-star review based off of his attitude and his attitude alone. Now I did speak with the cops when they showed up, and they're not going to do anything about it, but the point is if you're going to run a business you're going to be in the business of customer service we have to understand that there are occasionally going to be folks with special needs so to speak and we have to make a reasonable thing to accommodate them. And when other patrons volunteer to give you the means for reasonable compensation to assist them take advantage of it don't be a jerk. Now I'm not wishing anyone to get fired, but I hope he was reprimanded. And I hope he learned his lesson. And to the couple who this happened to, if you happen to read this review, this grumpy old vet tried to pay for your food because they called the cops. You did not deserve the treatment you were given you definitely didn't deserve to be flipped off by the cook, and I hope that you found a better place to eat and enjoyed your evening. To the...
Read moreMy boys and I have been coming here for about three years. More so now that they are older and ask to come. We absolutely love it and it’s always a wonderful experience. Amy is the nicest lady I have ever met. She remembers us when we come in, and is full of smiles and works so hard to make everyone happy. It was busy this afternoon (around 445-5) and she was amazing. We heard a couple behind us tell her it was their first time there and she explained how it worked. If you’ve never been to a Mongolian bbq before it’s pretty self explanatory but basically you sit down, they will take your drink order and ask if you want hot and sour soup or egg drop soup, fried rice or white rice. Then you go up to the buffet bar and take a bowl (or two) and fill with the ingredients that you want. Then to the sauces. They recommend at least 6 ladles of sauce. After that you put your bowl on the counter (if you have two bowls put them in a vertical line one behind the other not next to each other side by side. | not — if that makes sense so the chef knows they are to be cooked and plated together). Raul and the other chef are great. Raul always is so pleasant, friendly and works like a machine. They do their very best to keep everything well stocked and clean. If people would be more careful of how they are building their bowls there wouldn’t be much of a mess some reviews have mentioned, but the staff cleans constantly. Sometimes the items do need to be restocked and if you have a little patience it will be shortly. You ever been cooking and your kid comes up and keeps asking for something and you’re like just give me a second!? Same thing.
That said. The hot and sour soup is delicious. It’s one of the best I’ve ever had. Not a fan of the fried rice but we prefer white rice anyways. To the lady who said the fried rice isn’t Japanese rice…well yeah cause it’s not Japanese food, but thanks for that laugh.
Now for the sauce. This is what I recommend if you’re unsure (and make sure you stir before scooping your sauce on to your food):
2 ladles of Mongolian sauce 1 ladle oyster sauce 2 ladles garlic sauce 1 ladle soy sauce 2 ladles chili oil (leave out or use 1 if you don’t like spicy, two well stirred ladles is perfect for me and I love spicy.) 1 ladle of sesame oil.
If you’re new to this, start with smaller plates so you don’t waste food on something you don’t like. It’s all you can eat, you can always go back for more or change your sauces up.
The sesame bread is delicious. They make it homemade and my son loves dipping it in his hot and sour soup.
With the bill comes orange slices (and they are always the sweetest juiciest oranges) and fortune cookies. You can either pay at the table or take to register.
If you’re still reading my review, you have got to give this place a chance. The negative reviews I read seemed like they were coming from difficult people before they even sat down. We...
Read moreLiterally my husband and I’s favorite place to eat. They staff is so nice and remembers us even though we come maybe once every two weeks. You can get whatever you want fried on a big grill, with sauces, noodles, veggies and meat and you can get as many servings as you want in one sitting. (The only thing that was comparable to this place was flaming Amy’s bowl, which sadly permanently closed)They even give you soup, rice, sesame bread, oranges and fortune cookies (all for about $30-$40 for two people) And you gotta try the white sauce it goes with everything. The only downside I’d say is technically they don’t do takeout and you definitely can’t get leftovers to go. So even when I’m craving their food I can’t just have it mobile ordered and take it home. But I get the concept of having a buffet. The other downside for me is the atmosphere. Sometimes there’s weird folks and it gets really crowded and dark during the day cause of the blinds at times and makes me not enjoy my food as much. But when we go on an off day and it’s just us and a couple of others, it’s not too bad. Either way, my favorite place to eat...
