I was looking online for a "decent," Asian based cuisine in Wilmington when I came across an add for this restaurant. It had 3 stars compared to the others and was located at the end of a strip mall, but once I got there and went inside, I was in another part of the world completely.

I grew up in the South Pacific and Asia so the lite smells coming from the kitchen, had me rumerating of past meals and happier times as a youth.

The service by Mr. Joe Hou and his staff was second to none, and there was no courtesy or item not done to absolute perfection.

The food was incredibly flavorful, exceptionally well displayed and did not have the fake, overly sweet flavors generally found in chain buffet or take out restaurants.

The ambiance was so calming and peaceful with simple designs and lighting that had you relaxed within seconds of being seated and there was no piped in music that attempted to make you feel rushed or pretentiously relocated to a Chinese setting.

Did I mention the quality of service and attitude of the owner and staff? It was like meeting old family friends for the first time and when you left, Mr Hou knew your name and would undoubtedly remember it. I watched as locals returned and he (Mr. Hou) greeted them, asked about family members by name and even discussed how to top what they had since their last visit.

Excellent on all levels ... I will be back.

Pros: Everything Cons: Not enough time to try their entire menu .. no...

Took my husband here for Father’s Day. My husband ordered Hunan chicken, I ordered orange peel chicken. Both of our chicken tasted like it came out of a freezer bag. No flavor, the orange peel chicken had zero orange peels. Our waitress acted like she was completely inept. It was the most bizarre experience. The thing that struck me was the place was packed! My son ordered chicken fried rice and it too looked as though it came from a lean cuisine meal! When my husband ordered his food he specifically said I cannot eat rice. The food came out on a bed of stale steamed rice noodles! The gentlemen that came to take my card acted as though we should have known that it came with that. It was not listed on the menu. Oh yeah and our waitress never came back, I never even saw her touch another table. We were left there until I asked my son to go up to the bar and get someone. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I think you’re better off eating something from a food court. It was truly that bad. Finally to mention the cloth napkins are obviously washed on site (restaurants normally have a service wash these) they smelled like cheap dollar tree fabric softener. I don’t want to smell a napkin that I wipe...

My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from this restaurant 3 days ago. When it was time to leave to pick it up, my boyfriend realized he had lost his car keys. We could not find them for an hour and a half, and in the chaos I forgot to call the restaurant and let them know we wouldn't be able to pick up our food because we were stuck at my boyfriend's house. I got a call from the restaurant and the man on the other line said that he could bring us our food. I told him it was okay and that my boyfriend and I were okay with just eating the 50 dollars because we didn't want him to drive 20 minutes in the rain. He kept insisting on bringing us our food and I found out it was the owner I was speaking to. He insisted again on bringing us our food and repeatedly said it was no problem and that it did not feel right for us to not get our food after paying for it. He brought us our food and refused to take any kind of tip. Exceptional and amazing service, my boyfriend and I were so overcome with gratitude and we will 100% be going back in person this time. The food was delicious reheated the next day! If you want to support a business in Wilmington, Szechuan 132 is a...

We started out with the Beef Sate. It was wonderful, arriving at the table quickly. They provided us with barbecue wet wipes to clean up. The peanut sauce that came with the sate was thick and creamy. My daughter and I shared a plate of Sweet and Sour chicken. There's a modest $3 upcharge for sharing but it was worth it. The main dish arrived just as quickly. It was not doused in sauce but rather the sauce came on the side. We only drank water and the total bill came out less than $30. We tipped an additional $10 and had a wonderful evening for $40. My fortune cookie read, "the greatest risk is not taking one." Indeed. We will be coming back.

Stopped by looking for some Hibachi for dinner, and really was impressed with this great hide-away. Very nice sit down meal experience, and only reason for not a full 5 stars is that service was a bit slow, BUT it is all because the food is fresh, well prepared, and delicious. Dining and bar areas are small but well laid out, and create a nice atmosphere. Recommend dine-in, and enjoy, do not be in a rush. Presentation and service is awesome. Food was fantastic, and heard other customers speak highly of the food quality and portions. We will add this great little place on our Wilmington travel list for sure.

This is a special place for my wife and I. We grew up in Asheboro, NC and this restaurant reminds us of a restaurant we frequented during our childhood and dating years. I ordered the Spicy Tangy Orange Peel Beef. This dish features peppers, carrots, bok choy, and broccoli cooked in a tangy chili pepper sauce. The beef was so tender and juicy and was cut into manageable sized pieces so as to eat with just a fork. This dish comes with white or brown rice. The side salad with ginger dressing was also very fresh and the dressing actually covered the entire salad and was very light in taste.
