Yes, yes, yes.
Dined in. The interior was well kept and clean. Pride in this aspect is shown.
Did a large sampling here, and all were excellent. Started with chips and queso. The chips were very hearty and large in portion. Excellent.
We did al pastor and chorizo tacos ($3 each). All tacos are corn tortillas and come with onions and cilantro. Liberally filled with meat. On the side, you get cucumber slices, radish slices, grilled onions, and a jalapeño. The al pastor taco has bits of pineapple that give the meat a hint of sweetness. These are good versions. The chorizo taco was among the best I can remember sampling anywhere. Zippy. You get green and red salsa for garnishing.
We ended up getting a quesabirria taco since we were happy with the others. Wow. Just wow. Excellent juicy beef and the "juice" while awesome, wasn't needed. The outside tortilla was fried perfectly.
As we left, we perused their menu just to see what else they had. A lady at the order counter was informing us of the excellent tamales she comes weekly to get. We were stuffed and weren't going to order anything else. An employee, who I am assuming, is the owner, gave us one for free (a pork one). Wow. Just wow. Fantastic. Tamales are a hit as well. It didn't last our several hour drive home. Do get these, too. Best tamale I can remember having.
We were blown away by the food, the service, and the experience. Me saying "nailed it" wouldn't do it justice. This is a quality joint for tacos...
Read moreMan, my carne asada burrito was all rice and beans. I kept biting to see if there were more than just pieces of meat, maybe a tablespoon and a half. There wasn't even a lot of seasoning. To f up a carne asada, which is hard to do, when all you really is add salt, develop a crust on either or both sides of flank or ribeye. Maybe the grill wasn't hot enough, idk.
I know my carne asadas because I literally ate a ton of burritos in LA, SD, and Las Vegas almost every week and have developed a reputation of eating burritos amongst chefs and close friends
To make matters worse, it's $12. It's the most expensive and worst burrito I've ever eaten.
I'm not gonna rate this low because they need the stars, but I'd like to get a response from the cook or restaurant and see if they...
Read moreFirst off let me start this review by saying the service here is absolutely FLAWLESS! The employees up front today were some of the most friendly people I've ever met , the food was great also, this is definitely a hidden gem in Wilmington. I love the fact that they take time out of their day to explain to EACH customer how much they appreciate you coming and that they are a local family owned business and all of their menu is authentic. You get a good portion of food for your money too, prices are average for the market, anything this place is lacking was made up by how nice and respectful the staff was. I'm not sure why there isn't a line out the door here! I'll def stop in again next time in the area. Thanks again for the A+ service...
