Whiskey Tango Foxtrot — Restaurant in Wilmington

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot pulls off the rare feat of making the superlative accessible. It's a comfortable space with a great drinks selection and prices that aren't as high as one would think.

First and foremost, the selection here is commendable. Wines include whites and reds as well as ports and dessert wines. There are also beer offerings to suit any preference: lagers, ciders, porters, stouts, IPAs, and more. The real stars, however, are the cocktails. They range from classics (a Negroni, a Manhattan, etc.) to house specialties to boilermakers to infusions (such as vodka with basil, lime, and peach) to deconstructions to dessert cocktails and seasonal specialties. My wife started with a Funfetti Chocolate Cake (cake vodka, Godiva chocolate, Frangelico, and cream with a funfetti and chocolate rim) while I went with an iced chai cocktail. Both were delicious, prepared with skill and care, and at $8 and $9 respectively, neither broke the bank.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot also offered adequate space and comfortable seating and attracted a non-obnoxious clientele. This is the kind of place that can do classy without being snooty, fun without being raucous, and the music wasn't bad, either.

Local resident, been here a number of times, drinks are good but the rest of the baggage isn't worth the time. Four of us stopped in a couple weeks ago, waited again for order to be taken, drinks to be made while others arriving later were served first. While waiting the 15 minutes before being served (not busy), we watched another bartender ignore a well dressed 30-ish something couple that walked in the door, stood at the end of the bar for 10-12 minutes while he was flirting/making drinks for two ladies. Never acknowledged them. Wisely, they turned and walked out...bartender finally acknowledges them with a snarky "Bye!" and a wave. As for our guy, in a recent picture review...went up to order second round prior to finishing the first so our party wouldn't have to wait so long. Went back 10 minutes later, no patrons at the bar and no drinks ready. Captain America promptly smirks and says if you don't stay at the bar, you don't get your drink made. Told the jackass to tab us out. Great drinks but the arrogant clown show isn't worth it. Way too many good bars in town to get good drinks and better service! They lost 6 patrons (4-locals) for good and a couple hundred dollars in the 30 minutes...

I have been to Whiskey Tango Foxtrot about 3 or 4 times for Karaoke, and actually missed about 3 weeks in a row before getting back this passed Thursday. I found myself goosebumpy, when the young Lady at the door was so happy to see me come back. I have enjoyed myself each time I have gone there! From the Bartender remembering my voice from my Part-time day job, and the clientele's WARM RECEPTION, I knew I was going to make this a REGULAR STOP on my weekly Karaoke appearances! The DJ is in the group of BEST Karaoke DJ's who I patronize and support, I am a Karaoke Junkie; and I get at it 4 nights a week and go to (6) places! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is one of the two spots I go to on Thursdays, and I absolutely love it and look forward to going each week that my legs are able to make the 18 block walk! Kudos, 👍 up, and my hat is off to the Staff and Clientele of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot 🤗👍💖!
