While I only rate it 4 stars, this restaurant really has alot going for it. Me and my wife visited Lucky's for date night, to have a couple milkshakes and try and see how quick we could compete a 500 piece puzzle at the restaurant (great idea for a date night! We love it.). We picked Lucky's expecting a cool vibe and good food. We weren't at all disappointed. The vibe was late 60's early 70's with the decor and playlist to match. The employees were helpful and cheery. They even had a good attitude about our weird date night idea (I will say, be prepared to tip 30ish percent if you actually do this, it's only fair) We ordered fries and 2 shakes. The menu was typical diner with the prices to match, I dont expect a couple having difficulty keeping the tab under $30 with a good tip. They also had a healthy selection of beer and spirits. The fries were the sweet cajun type and were gone in 5 minutes flat. We really enjoyed them. The shakes were the stopping point here. To make a good shake you need icecream, whole milk and a flavored syrup of some kind. Even for vanella. These shakes tasted as if skim was used with no syrup. They weren't the worst thing in the world, but they did remind me of those shakes you can get at some gas stations. While we were disappointed with the quality of the milk shake, the rest of our evening was wonderful and Lucky's had alot to do with it Order: Black and White Shake Vanella Shake Large Fries Total:$12.75 Note: During the winter months, they close at 9pm, not 10.

Our first experience at this place today. I will not say bad at all. It was good though. I liked the food. Their menu is catchy and exciting. Every dish has the perfect portion according to its price. The first time my daughter finished all what she ordered. This coffee shop is at the best location which attracts people to come and eat here, usually busy mornings with breakfast, the only thing which saddens me is that they should look after the clean up of the floor. I mean, food is so good staff are so friendly and polite , if the floors are clean it will be up to the mark then. I like their concept of serving hot water. Do not forget to read their menu every single line. For a second I thought my pre-teen wrote it

We had a nice breakfast here. The restaurant is clean and has a great mid-century vibe. Our cheese omelette was good (our criteria is good quality cheese, not that plastic cheese food, and enough cheese that there's cheese in every bite. Scrapple was also nicely done, not deep fried like a lot of restaurants do as a shortcut. Our rye toast was the best we've ever had at a traditional diner in this area. Our only quibble--and it's a matter of personal taste, but important to us--is the home fries. We prefer sliced potatoes cooked on a flat top, but these are cubed and deep fried, sort of like small french fries.

Worst most disrespectful service I’ve ever had a restaurant. I am so beyond pissed at the horrible service and attitude I recieved from a female server I normally would ask for. I have been going to Lucky's since it was the Ranch House and I consider myself to be a very considerate patron and a regular paying customer. After the extremely poor service, as well as the outward display of unprofessionalism regarding the actions I saw of the staff leads me to believe I will NEVER go back to Lucky's. I would rather take my hard earned money to another restaurant. I have never been treated at a dining facility so poorly and had a bad taste in my mouth after how I saw the staff interacted with other customers and each other. I can’t even express how rude the waitress was. I’ve spent so much money there over the months but they lost very loyal customers today.  MUST MENTION; as I was sitting at the counter stools waiting for my food, I saw the management leave the front area and two back of house workers they with another server BLATANTLY go to the liquor cabinet and pour alcohol in their drinks as ALL 3 EMPLOYEES WERE DRINKING ON THE JOB. Further more, as a former bar tender myself, I know DE Laws and youngings are not allowed to serve alcoholic drinks. There was this one chic waitressing who was obviously "of age" making mixed drinks for everyone else's tables; seeming pretty proficent I must say, with stellar customer service skills. I understand that over 21 year old staff is responsible for making drinks but to lean on one person for the ENTIRE restaurant is an abusive management. This redhead lady and hustling up a storm while the rest of the underage staff gossiped. It left me more than disgusted. Final straw; I left a tip for the actual worker lady on HER TABLE and went to the bathroom. I approached her on the way out to point out the few extra bucks this woman earned and it was gone and she never got my pay it forward gift. I will NEVER go back to that establishment. PPS. Last Comment I think I got food poisoning from the cupcakes they leave out in the 'display case' for god knows how long. Ruined frosting...

First time my wife and I visited this restaurant. Service was friendly and attentive, however, my having worked in many different restaurants over the years with my Father who was a retired chef, my Father taught me the principles of fair pricing, proper portioning, and the importance of an impeccably clean establishment. This is where I was disappointed with Luckies. My wife ordered mushroom omelet with swiss cheese that came with hssh browns and a biscuit ($9.50!!). I ordered western omelet with cheese that also came with hashbrowns and a biscuit. Omelets claimed to be 3 egg omelets, but were half size to what you get at IHOP for a lot less. Food at Luckies was fair, overpriced for what you get. A side of scrapple (RAPA. There is no substitute), was delicious nut a bit pricey for a side ($3!). A side of sticky bun was large but drenched in a thick Kayo syrup ($4.50!!). The buscuits were topped with cinnamon sugar and black pepper (seriously!). The vents above the grill in their open kitchen were brown stained with grease and age, as well as ceiling vents in the dining area. All totalled, our breakfast, with 2 coffees came to $30.90!, which is outrageous for a diner, and not worth the smalk portions. Hash browns claimed to be their famous specialty were lukewarm shredded potatoes with an orange colored tinge that you hope is paprika. They lacked flavor. The humorous menu, friendly and attentive staff raised my raiting above 1/2 a star. My Father passed away in October 2018. Having trained the cooks at the old Ranch House Restaurant that was at this location, he would have chased the staff out with a meat cleaver for the overpriced, mediocre food in a diner that was screaming for a serious good cleaning. Trust me, want a better breakfast for less? Go to IHOP just...

Love luckys! And usually love every time we go but my family(multiracial) has gotten this server there a few times, Nicole (30s-40s maybe with dark brown and blonde hair usually tied up) and she just makes the experience not well. She’s unwelcoming, other servers run around a lot for her she barely comes to our table. She picks and chooses when and who she wants to be attentive for. If you’re a person of color or a biracial/multiracial family ask for anyone but her. Me and my wife have clearly witnessed her tone becoming short and stand offish with tables of people of color and it comes off super rude like she clearly doesn’t want to be there because her tone will switch completely as soon as she goes to a white or white presenting family. Even the last time we were in my wife who is Haitian kept commenting to me how dismissive she seems every-time we get seated with her. We thought maybe the first time was a one off day for her but she continues to act that way even when we don’t have her it’s visible to anyone that her demeanor changes with different tables. It’s been a few weeks since we Been in but this behavior really put a sour taste in our mouths so we’ve been hesitant on coming back. I should’ve wrote this sooner but after thinking about it more it continues to upset me that it’s 2025 and we’re still feeling and being treated like this. Would love to continue to support luckys but we can’t be the only ones that feel this way and for her to be there as long as she has been, maybe luckys isn’t...
