Luna Caffè Roasters — Restaurant in Wilmington

My fiancé and I used to love this coffee shop and have always made sure we stop in when we come to visit Wilmington. It was our favorite shop. On Monday morning I went to get a coffee and a bagel, had some issues with my card bc we have been traveling. I asked if I could go get my cash and planned to handle card later. I walked back to the house where we were staying at and I came back with cash. I was told by barista cash was acceptable. They would not take my $50. It’s not the baristas fault, they were texting with a manager or possibly the owner , I waited 15 min for the owner to text them back and then say my money is no good there. A giant waste of my time and awful service. The next day my fiancé wanted to give them another chance, we really always had good experiences before this . So on 8/15/23 he went back to Luna Caffe and a homeless man was inside of the shop harassing customers to buy him food. The baristas did not ask him to leave and my fiancé felt obligated to buy him food so that he would stop scaring the people inside.

This tiny hipster joint is the alt-biz coffee place Wilmington deserves. The m.o. is standard: art on the walls, nerdy liberal types with laptops sipping cleverly-named caffeinated beverages in slow motion, poetry reading posters in the window, etc. You know the scene. You've been by something like this place in every urban neighborhood you've ever been to. Which is perfect. It's coffee without the corporate vibe. It feels like the person at the next table is a neighbor, even when they aren't. You could at least strike up a conversation, if they don't mind looking up from their screen. Luna Caffe is clean and well decorated. The prices aren't too bad. It's easy to find and it's cozy, like the neighborhood it's surrounded by. I got the red-eye, my partner ordered an iced mocha something. Both were surprisingly good. If you're looking for a laid back Saturday hangout spot or a place to become a regular you wouldn't go wrong making Luna's that place. I'll be...

Luna Caffe is one of Wilmington's gems! It's creative vibe is perfectly suited to Castle Street's up-and-coming artistic district and the friendly neighborhood atmosphere makes guests feel immediately welcome. The coffee is great and the owners are amazing people who love their community. Coffee-shopping is one of my very favorite hobbies and over the years, I have realized that some coffee shops have good coffee and others have a good vibe. Luna has both! Plus they have almond milk and soy milk, which are great for all my dairy-free homies. I would highly recommend Luna to anyone looking for a place to study, meet friends, connect with the community, and enjoy a good cup of coffee.
